Re: **mkharsh33 NHL 11 All-Star Sliders**

Here is what I got using position lock on RD:

I was Pittsburgh playing against EDM. My "strategy" here is to have a good team against a bad team, then do the reverse.

EDM - PITT

Shots: 26 - 32
Faceoffs: 27 - 25
TOA: 5:57 - 9:09
PIM: 12 - 4
PowerPlay: 1/2 - 5/6

This definitely felt much better with the shot totals. Time on Attack was increased as well. But I'm not sure if Pitt is just that good on the powerplay to go 5/6.

I'm confused by the CPU Diff adjustment slider. With this maxed, I was expecting more of a fight from EDM. Maybe they had a slight speed boost? Either way, I put 7 gls up against a Diff adjustment maxed. So if someone can explain this slider?

Game felt loose and the neat thing, was watching my players actually break for the net when an opening appeared. I passed and we scored..it was awesome!

Anyway, good start so far on these!

Here are my stats from my first game with these sliders:

NSH - 3 FLA - 0

Shots (N - 34, F - 30)
Hits (N - 10, F - 8)
Faceoffs (N - 20, F - 27)
TOA (N - 7:18, F - 7:35)
Pen (N - 10:00, F - 10:00)
PP (N - 0/4, F - 0/5)

All in all, I enjoyed the game although I could'nt score, Rinne was like a machine in the goal ( I just need to get better and take smarter shots. I will play more games with these and see how it goes

Steven if you want to tone down the PP numbers lower the penalty time scaling slider. Remember the higher the setting for this slider the closer to real time the penalty clock ticks away.
I have mine set in the middle and it seems good. I don't like the penalty time to elapse too quick though. I like to have time to try and set up something before the time is up. And on the other end I like the CPU to have time too. I want to feel the pressure of trying to clear the puck whe I'm shorthanded and if the penalty time slider is too low it only takes maybe 2 clears and the penalty is over.

Re: **mkharsh33 NHL 11 All-Star Sliders**

Liking most of what I see with these harsh!
Just played 3 games using random teams.
Lost 2-1 as Pitt to Columbus in OT. Shot block at the point led to a 2 on 1 for CBJ. First shot was a save but Nash was there to pounce on the rebound.
Lost 5-1 as Ott to Bos. This was 2-1 going into the 3rd and Boston just exploded. They got a goal in the first minute of the 3rd and I upped my pressure, changed my forecheck and increased my breakout attack. Got burned by that though. My only goal was by Alfredsson. Took a pass from behind the net and one timed it home for a PP goal. Right as I took the shot Chara knocked me down and Alfie celebrated with a fist pump while lying on his back. It looked cool.
Last game lost 5-3 as Tor to Fla.
Florida is tough. They can score, and they're fast. I gave up 3 goals in the first 4 minutes. Pulled Giguere and Gustafson made saves to keep me in the game. I got the score to 4-3 in the 3rd, but had the possible tying goal waived off for being touched with a high-stick.
Fla got an empty netter late and that was it.
As I said, like what I see. Had to turn penalties down one notch though as I was seeing entirely too many at max. Left CPU and teammate penalties maxed though.
One question concerns the pass speed/pass interception combo. Do you feel with pass speed as low as it is and intercepts maxed you see too many INT's? Seems that for both human and CPU if the puck is anywhere near the defender he knocks the puck down and takes it away.
Didn't someone figure out last year that the puck is a lot looser with the INT slider lower? The puck doesn't magnetize right to the defender's stick?
I'm gonna mess with this later and see what happens.
Also I think puck control should go up by 1 click. The superstars at 0 have trouble hanging on during a deke when it looks like they should be able to retain the puck.

Re: **mkharsh33 NHL 11 All-Star Sliders**

Thanks for the feedback, guys! These are a "version 1" so tear into them and let me know what you're seeing.

What I have found with these is that I can't win (LOL!). I think in the 15 games I've used them I've won twice.

I agree about the penalty scaling...thinking about dropping that down a notch or two.

The pass interception slider is something to be looked at. Also, I know there are those who believe that you should put the passing slider higher to get more shots by the cpu, but I don't buy that theory. I've always felt that you should put the cpu's shooting higher, that's why I don't go with the zero accuracy like you see in other slider sets.

The goalie reaction is hard to nail... I started with zero, but that wasn't any fun. I've thought about raising it a touch for the human, but i like the cpu's at 2.

bleacher-creature: are you thinking of just putting the human puck control up 1?

Appreciate it! I'm no slider guru, just trying to help out. I'm using hybrids of slider sets that I've saved from past years, especially last year as I think the game plays much the same. I want the puck to feel loose and I don't like the magnetized passing from last year, so I'm trying to free the game up without making it so difficult that you can't control the puck. And I want the stars to shine.

I saw something in this game that made me happy... my checking line actually played their shifts like a checking unit. And one more thing...I scored a goal with Malkin that got overturned and I had a goal scored against me that the kicking motion was very subtle - the ref waved it off, but after review they overturned it. This game is really incredible...
