Hidden jersey toggle

Hey all,

Long time lurker here. I tried searching the archives for this, but can't seem to find a step by step method for this exact question. I am aware that these games have uniforms blocked out. I recall a 14 roster that restored jerseys that weren't able for selection in the default game. My question is how would I go about doing that? I have an idea how to use NHLView for basic roster edits (I'm impressed it's still a prominent tool, I recall using it for PC NHL games!), but I don't think that's the appropriate tool for this task? If someone could point me in the right direction I would appreciate it.

Thanks!

Re: Hidden jersey toggle

Here is a list in attachments for all jersey files found inside nocacherender.big in NHL Legacy game disc. There are many jerseys which aren’t active in game. You can edit jersey tables in DB editor on stockteamjerseys tab.

For example Edmonton Oilers (art ID 11) jerseys in disc:
rendering/jersey/texlib_0_11_0.rx2
rendering/jersey/texlib_0_11_1.rx2
rendering/jersey/texlib_0_11_2.rx2
rendering/jersey/texlib_0_11_3.rx2
rendering/jersey/texlib_0_11_4.rx2
rendering/jersey/texlib_1_11_2.rx2
rendering/jersey/texlib_1_11_3.rx2
rendering/jersey/texlib_1_11_4.rx2

the files are named as follows: texlib_”style”_”teamartid”_variant.rx2 (Ps3 .rpsgl)
Style 0 = 90’s style jersey
Style 1 = Rbk Edge jersey

NHLviewNG doesn’t support edit jerseys, but DB editor does:
Tools here:
http://dpyro.tk/downloads/index.html

How to extract DB from xbox save file and edit db in DB Editor:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZNyCZSGySQI

Ps3: use Bruteforce save data to decrypt SYS-Data file.

To view textures in PC you need to extract .big files from game.

How extract files from XBOX 360:
1. Install game to USB.
2. Use horizon tool to extract installed game from USB (Data0000, Data0001…etc)
3. Use god2iso to make .iso from usb installed game
https://digiex.net/threads/god2iso-x...onverter.7115/
4. Extract files from .iso use Xbox 360 XISO
https://digiex.net/threads/xbox-360-...-gui-ftp.9711/

Ps3: Extract pkg for example with this tool: https://www.psx-place.com/resources/...extractor.824/

Extract .big files with quickbms https://aluigi.altervista.org/quickbms.htm and this script

Use noesis to view texture files.
Put the scripts in attachment in plugins/python folder

Attached Files
File Type: zip noesis.zip (5.5 KB, 9 views)
File Type: txt nocacherender.txt (199.0 KB, 15 views)

Re: Hidden jersey toggle

Thank you for this. This is a good guide. I have one question. Regarding EA DB Editor The NHL 14 XML file from that site and others that I have found seem to be broken? The tabs stop making sense after Rosters and Lines. Is there another XML file that can be used? I've attached a screenshot to show what I mean.

Re: Hidden jersey toggle

I want to edit an NHL 08 database because I don't want to create a lot of players, I can't add anyone to international teams AND NHLView NG supports NHL 09 at the earliest. I tried consulting this, but it, too, supports NHL 09 at the earliest. The file also doesn't seem to work well with the XML, since it's for NHL 14. What am I supposed to do? Give up? Or is there some way I can edit NHL 08 (and maybe 07?) databases?

Re: Hidden jersey toggle

Is something like this possible for NHL Legacy on PS3?
