If anyone saw the last gen thread, this slider set is completely different, so I figured I'd just post it.
This FIFA 15 has been a bit of a headache to get right. I stubbornly assumed I could just transfer my previous slider set into the infinity engine, and that'd be that - well that's definitely not the case. For those that know me, I like to focus on the midfield battles first. I want it to be scrappy and tight - this is where that pride for the ball should come into play, and on default, I definitely don't see it.
Okay, seeing some good things. I unfortuantely cannot test till later tonight on TWitch (around 9 pm CST). Please test these out for me guys.
I've also put a deadline on myself to have these completely done by Friday. So this first version of the Beta will be called A (eventually it will just be Version 12 final)
Reaper and I are testing this now.
Now, we have that old version 7 and version 9 feeling. However, there is a lot of blend of all the versions. From line discrepancy, low sprint speed value, width discrepancy and the most important value ACCELERATION @ 52.
Acceleration @ 52 is an absolute gamechanger. I was WRONG about line length being the true key to variety. It's simply the acceleration value @ 52. It's manageable, and it plays a good paced game. On top of that, the reactions are great, and the fight you and the CPU have are great.

Items to make this final:
1. Run Frequency - the higher the line length, the more we'll need this. On the higher line settings there's no need to raise this as the defense comes up to play in the attack anyways.
2. Line Height - It's not going below 65, so please stop posting about anything below this. I'm tired for having to validate this constantly, the proof is in the pudding with video, and also Reaper streams as well - showing the exact same thing.
3. Line Length - one of the trickier settings. I love the variety of passes by the CPU, so that's the good. The not so good is the defensive track back from the midfield. I understand they aren't coming back as quick and the situation turns into attackers v defenders. This is why it's a BETA, and hasn't been finalized. We are still playing with the balance of this value.
4. Line Width - I'm of the belief that the disrepancy is necessary to help the user's defensive line to be more tucked in from the CPU's tendency to attack down the flanks. This of course does work with Line length - so the values are changing when Line Length gets finalized.
5. FB Positioning - No need to raise this with a higher line length. It keeps the defensive shape, and they go up anyways. Again, will change with the adjustment to line length.
6. Stop posting different sets. This is a separate # because it is truly getting out of hand. I understand the need for discussion and contirbution. You're not contributing to the slider set that I have posted, and have put in countless hours into, by posting a WHOLE NEW SET. The slider set posted is a BASE. Please reocmmend your adjustments as necessary - stop reinventing the wheel. I know I'm guilty as anyone who changes the composition of the set - but this is my thread, I'm allowed to do that. I've logged in so many hours (12 hour stream yesterday fyi) and so has Reaper. We cannot finalize this set if we keep getting all these theories and mass overhauls.
Thanks eveyrone for contributing. If I were content with what is there, these would be final. The patch royally screwed up what wast there before - but I believe it can be better, it just takes more patience and not a complete overhaul every single time the negatives outweigh the positives.

Legendary Set: 10/24/14
After what felt like all night testing, I think I've finally got a good representation of the game on Legendary. Please try it out and let me know.
My one concern has been the burst, but many times I tried, I was fouled - and it was amazing. Remember the burst is when the defender shifts out of the ball dribbler's line of attack, not if they attempt at a tackle or of course foul. I also want to possibly test line settings more because I feel the midfield could be bypassed a bit - and there is now some room to play around with it since the CPU isn't overpowering as much as before.

10/22/14 UPDATE Since the patch, the "Final" sliders are needing to be looked at unfortunately. The issue with the marking has come back, and the "burst" exploit as well - which is the worst for me.

Basically, a glorified Version 7. Seeing good things with the increase in Acceleration and Sprint Speed. Shot error was taken into account as well. Pass error will not ever go off of 75 ever again. It's been proven that the CPU goes into perfect passing because the system is designed to open up players and not force passes. This is my opinion, and it has been proven on TwitchTV. You will see a more human like approach - and what is more realistic of what we see on TV. Please test these EXACT settings. World Class will also be tested going forward.

Version 7 brings an incredible sense of gameplay with the switch to Normal. The speed is good, and the play is really electric and CPU attacks vary on each possession. You will notice "the little things" again. From simple passes into space, or poor clearances, back passes to not just defenders - but the keeper as well.
You will also see the defensive awareness on both sides increase significantly. The CPU will play even more HUMAN than before. Enjoy!

Here is Version 6, and it's looking to be the last bit of the puzzle, as it compliments Version 5's line settings - but brings in a bit more midfield play, and less scrambling in the defensive thirds all match. The key with this is to also make the wide midfield not as the main avenue for attack. Also, defenders take better angles into their tackles as well, resulting in more physical play - but more importantly, less chasing the computer around the field for 90 minutes.

Version 5 is here and it compliments Version 4, while also taking a look at some of the glaring issues. The goal here is to provide:
- Realistic build up, more side to side, patience from CPU
- Ability to still tackle, and even hold down secondary pressure where needed
- CPU Crossing improved
- CPU passing not automatic, but enough to be a challenge without feeling cheated
- Marking and well timed face-on tackles in attempt to remedy "burst" exploit
- First touch control error increased to provide more realistic feel of pressure on the ball - resulting in random plays

Focusing on getting the dynamic play back. I felt like I was constantly on my heels with the CPU attack on lower acceleration and speed settings, so I used what was good in Version 2. I know it came back when I started seeing tackles fly in as it should.
There is a big difference in terms of marking for User and CPU. I want the CPU to pressure the field a bit depending on tactics, and I want the user not to get so caught out of position. It will still happen, that is inevitable, but the passing error @ 99 actually plays pretty well for the CPU in forcing passes. This means even if you are out of position, the CPU team won’t play like Barcelona and find those impossible through balls.

Definitely, you can use Semi, not a big deal - that's why I left the user passing at 55.
Nothing in particular, enjoy a couple games first and see how you feel. I made a typo on the OP though, CPU passing error is 75 not 65. Sorry.

Btw, sorry guys, I've already made a couple of changes, and one pending. The beast that is the pace of play versus being able to accelerate/sprint at ease is playing a tune in my head - so I need to look at the following values:
Sprint Speed:48/48
Acceleration: 46/46
*I love acceleration @ 46, so now it's about finding the value that is going to help balance out the ease of running past defenders, damn FIFA 15's emphasis on pace.
I will be changing the values of these below:
Marking: from 51/51 to 48/48
*seeing nice animation and the CPU actually takes more time in their build up for some reason, not to mention seeing more late challenges.
Shot Error: from 55/55 to 53/53
*seeing too many bad shots by the CPU.
Hopefully these are the only values. In the middle of a great match between Chelsea (user) and Liverpoool (cpu) that I will have posted later.
