Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?

Notts County March 2019 update

The month of March saw us in a three way battle for the Championship league. With Burnley and Watford in hotpursuit. We battled to stay up front in the league despite having a strong FA Cup run going as well.

In a FA Cup action the replay (without Deble who could not get fit in time) with Crystal came down to the 98th minute as we pushed ahead to finally avenge their putting us out in the EPL Cup. It was a quick turnaround in FA Cup action as we had to also take on Liverpool. We were able to take Liverpool down. This completed our Return to Wembley campaign, but this we wanted more than just to return. But we have a huge test coming in the way of Manchester City.

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?

Notts County April 2019 Update

This month had a lot at stake. First in league play we had matches against Burnley and Watford. Fortunately we able to take them both down. The matchup between us and Watford was between first and second in the league. As Watford had leap frogged Burnley for second. But took a back turn in a defeat to Oxford. This three way battle was in the midst of a big FA Cup matchup.

Here comes Manchester City at Wembley. This match went tooth and nail, but in the 70 minute mark Notts made their move. To go on and win 2-0. The team is looking at a difficult May to seal their fate as champions. June will bring the FA Cup final with Chelsea. What will happen can Notts make history?

How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?

I have no words to explain why this guy scores so many goals from his position.

He had 26 the year before and 16 the year before that.

Edit: The guy finished with 31 goals

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?

I recently switched back to FIFA after playing most of the year on PES. The gameplay is hard to get used to again but the presentation is amazing.

I'm starting a career at Tottenham. I'll provide updates as I go but for now I'm debating if I want to sell Lamela to Real Madrid and buy Isco from then.

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?

Season 5

The Mariners

October 2020

Swansea City 0 - 2 Grimsby Town
GRI - Amang 16', 41'
MOTM: Amang

I couldn't be happier with how we controlled this game. Swansea could barely find room to breathe before we smothered them with pressure, and on the other end we created chance after chance. Our first goal came after Sacko's shot some how hit off both posts before coming back to him and his second effort was saved straight to Amang for the easy tap in. Amang then added a second after Wolf found him on a great run up the middle and all he had to do was beat the keeper. We had a few more chances to extend the lead afterwards, but nothing else materialized for us.

Grimsby Town 3 - 2 Arsenal FC
GRI - Amang 15', Wolf 28', Sacko 64'
ARS - Musa 10', Xhaka 77'
MOTM: Wolf

Another fantastic performance to put in the books for us and we really are proving that last year was no fluke. Arsenal did take the lead first with Musa tapping in an inch perfect cross from Walcott. But it only took a matter of minutes for us to answer through Amang tapping in one of his own off of a cross from Vieira. We then took the lead with Wolf sliding in to tap in a loose ball in the middle of the box after Oblak made a nice save on Vieira's shot. We kept on pressing for more and in the second half we extended our lead even further with Wolf crossing the ball in and Sacko hitting it on the volley inside the near post. Xkaha pulled one back though with a header into the open net after his first shot smashed off the crossbar and came back to him. We had to sweat out the final minutes, but we were able to limit them from creating anything too dangerous.

Europa League Group Stage
Olympiacos 0 - 1 Grimsby Town
GRI - Kapino 64' (OG)
MOTM: Caulker

It's not every day that you win a game without registering a shot on goal, but I guess I will take what we can get. Our attack was a mess in this one, but our defense was in fine form on the other end. The deciding goal came with Kelly getting down the right and he sent a low ball into the box where Wolf got on the end of it. His attempt was deflected by Kapino though and it was enough to push it inside the goal. There wasn't really much of anything else to mention from either side.

Manchester City 2 - 0 Grimsby Town
MCI - Zuculini 54', Soyuncu 77'
MOTM: Fernando

We missed way too many chances and we have to walk away wondering what if. Zuculini didn't miss though and he opened the scoring in the second half with a powerful strike from the edge of the box that settled into the top left corner. Soyunco doubled that lead after he got his head on to the end of a cross from Sane and directed it down past the keeper's reach. We have to be more clinical if we want to get better results in games like this.

Grimsby Town 0 - 2 Liverpool FC
LIV - Chirivella 28', Sturridge 40'
MOTM: Markovic

Same scoreline as last game, but this time we weren't even close to looking like we belonged on the same field as our opponent. Liverpool absolutely took apart our defense and after a particular run of making our guys look foolish Chrivella capped it off with a first time finish to take the lead. Their next came with Markovic weaving his way through our defense and then finding Sturridge in front of goal for the easy finish. I wish I could say we had any good chances to pull one back, but I would be lying if I did.

Re: How's Your FIFA Career Mode Going?

Season 1

Club in Crisis

October 2016

Blackpool FC 3 - 1 Carlisle United
BLP - Payne 3', Elliott 56', Yeates 90'
CAR - Lambe 81'
MOTM: Yeates

We conceded for the first time in 4 games, but we had our shooting boots on today to more than make up for it. We struck almost instantly when Yeates played Payne up the middle and he finished across the keeper. Our next came from Elliott who after Vassell played him down the right he did the rest himself and was able to get his shot off and finish inside the far post. Carlisle pulled one back when Lambe took advantage of our back line trying to catch him offside and he timed it perfectly to get free and head home a cross. Yeates put the game away though after Elliott sent him through on the counter and all he had to do was beat the keeper.

Checkatrade Trophy
Swindon Town 2 (2) - (3) 2 Blackpool FC
SWI - Delfouneso 35', Gladwin 86'
BLP - Vassell 22', Cain 55'
MOTM: Cain

We continue on with another win in dramatic fashion. Shootouts are always nerve wracking, but our keeper stood tall and we walked away with the victory. Vassell opened the scoring with a great header off of a corner that powered it's way into the back of the net. Delfouneso took advantage of poor defense to grab the equalizer after cutting the ball inside and finishing across to the far post. Cain then rescued us with an absolutely stunning shot from outside of the box into the top right corner and we had the lead once again. In the closing minutes though Swindon picked up a cleared corner and sent it straight back ahead to Gladwin and he turned to finish on the near post. The game was going to be decided by penalties. After an impressive display from our keeper, Potts was able to put the deciding penalty away and send us through to the next round.

Stevenage FC 0 - 1 Blackpool FC
BLP - Cain 51' (PEN)
MOTM: Cain

Stevenage was completely toothless in this, and even though it took a questionable penalty for us to score, it's hard to argue that it wasn't the result we deserved. Our goal came in the second half after Vassell was through on goal and it seems questionable as to whether he was clipped or not by the defender, but his shot went wide as he went to the ground. The referee pointed to the spot and Cain tucked it away despite the keeper going the right direction.

Blackpool FC 2 - 0 Accrington Stanley
BLP - Elliott 12', 90'
MOTM: Elliott

Accrington hardly managed any threat, and took just a single shot the entire match. On our end, Elliott was on top of his game and Acccrington couldn't find an answer for stopping him. His first came from the right side of the goal and he timed his shot to put it through the defender's legs and inside the far post. He had a second denied by the post just 10 minutes later, and he continued to assert his presence up front. It looked only a matter of time until we were going to add a second and finally it came in the last minute with Daniel crossing the ball in and it fell to Potts who had his shot saved but Elliott was there to clean it up and complete his brace.

Grimsby Town 2 - 0 Blackpool FC
GRI - Yussuf 43', Vernon 45'
MOTM: Vernon

This was without a doubt our worse performance in quite some time. We hardly looked like we wanted to even be out there, and Grimsby took full advantage of our lack of intensity. Yussuf opened the scoring using a good bit of patience to wait for his window before firing the ball from the edge of the box and inside the near post. Just 2 minutes later Vernon was able to get some space on the back post and rise up to head in a cross to double the lead. We didn't offer any threat in the second half and we had to just accept our defeat.

Blackpool 2 - 1 Leyton Orient
BLP - Elliott 59', Redshaw 83
LEY - Adeboyejo 75'
MOTM: Payne

We caught a bit of a break at the end of the first half when Kennedy was shown a straight red for cutting down Philliskirk from behind with reckless abandon. We finally took advantage of the numbers when Payne raced down the left and crossed it to the back post where Elliott was standing unmarked for the volleyed finish back across to the far post. They caught us out of position though and through a combination of sheer numbers and great spacing, Adeboyejo was able to dribble straight at our goal and unleash an impressive shot into the top right corner. We weren't ready to give up and with the numbers advantage we pushed forward and Philliskirk was able to cross it in and Redshaw was there to meet it and send a looping header over the keeper.

Yeovil Town 1 - 0 Blackpool FC
YEO - Hedges 90'
MOTM: Khan

It was an absolutely crushing way to lose, but we were lucky to not have conceded prior to that. It doesn't alleviate any of the frustration though. Yeovil dominated us from the beginning and they had chance after chance, each time seeming to get a little closer to making the breakthrough. Their breakthrough finally came in the closing minutes with out keeper throwing the ball straight to them and one cross later Hedges was sending his header into the back of the net for the deciding goal.
