Wow, I didn't see that much different from last year. Can't wait to see next gen.

It seemed like EA was just trying to showcase how many times Bale can hit the post...

It's been obvious for weeks that current-gen FIFA 14 is getting a quick coat of paint and nothing more, and that EA's primary focus now is on next-gen FIFA for PS4 and Xbox One. Not a surprise at this point.

Read a story somewhere where the writer was disappointed that he could no longer chip the ball forward and sprint. I was immediately sold. Obviously the game was solid enough that they didn't have to reinvent the wheel, they just needed to slow the pace to make the game more like the game we all know and love. It sounds, and I stress sounds, like they've done that. Here's to hoping!

FIFA needs much more than just slowing down the gameplay in order to be considered representation of real football. Other major gameplay problems include:
* A number of meaningless player ratings (Passing and crossing ratings have no effect on individual pass/cross ability and accuracy for example)
* Complete lack of realism with regards to player ratings (Top-tier teams have all the fast players; lower tier-teams all the slow players)
* Ridiculous, over-the-top AI cheat programming
* Utter lack of differention in player positional behavior, team tactics and team style
