PC Version of FIFA 14 Won't Get Ignite Engine

There was certainly a lot of hype around FIFA Soccer 14 and what the Ignite Engine Could mean for the PC version of the game. Unfortunately for PC footballers, the Ignite Engine is completely meaningless to the game's PC version this year per a Tweet from Rob Hudson, community manager for FIFA:

"Clarification for the PC related questions earlier - EA SPORTS IGNITE will power FIFA 14 on Xbox One and PS4, not PC."

While the door is obviously left wide-open for next year's FIFA to get the Ignite Engine, it looks like PC Gamers will have to wait at least a year before they get the latest and greatest from EA Sports.

I've said this elsewhere: Wasn't that obvious weeks ago? The game is released in September, and next-gen systems won't be on the market until the Christmas season. 1+1=2. People who expected the PC game to be next-gen are obviously horrible at math.

Absolutely dreadful move by EA. It's as if they have all idiots making decisions over there, honestly.

Ignite engine is nothing but a gimmick anyway, but why piss off what is going to become the largest platform. After all, it's quickly becoming clear that both next gen console systems are going to sell way less than this gen.

The PC version accounts for less than 1% of FIFA sales. We're lucky EA is still releasing a PC version at this point.

PES 2013 sold 1.36m on consoles and 0.04m on pc (May 11th 2013 global sales summary). So, KONAMI should stop releasing the game on pc... Oh wait!We're lucky we still have companies releasing games on pc.

PC sales charts don't take digital downloads (steam, origin, etc.) into account.
