Premiere League Championship... How is it decided?

So there is no real "Championship Game" in the Premiere League? If you are at the top of the list you win automatically?

That is kind of a bummer. No playoffs or anything?

Yep that's exactly right

In many football/soccer leagues around the world the top team in the standings at the end of the season is declared the winner of league.

Its not like American sports, or international sports that have playoffs at the end of the regular season to decide the championship.

Playoffs? Dude, the playoffs are called the champions league. Getting a top spot in your country's league qualifies you for it. Exactly the same as the NFL, just with bigger divisions...

It's really fair when you think about it: every team plays every other team in the league twice, once home, once away. Whoever's ahead at the end of that marathon wins.

Yeah, while there are no playoffs, that means nothing because the footballing model of the world is FAR deeper than what Americans are doing with the playoff system.

First of all, there are two domestic cups, one of which still garners (mostly) full strength squads. Then, there's the Champions League, which is 1,000,000 times more exciting and passionate than the "playoffs".

Yeah, that was pretty much one of the most exciting days in my lifetime, and I'm not a United *****, or a City fan. You gotta love that stuff though.

THAT is why I wish I had the big leagues on TV where I live (Colorado). I watch what I can on ESPN3 streamed. The games are just huge.

I'm a huge hockey fan, and soccer just plays right into it. I don't really know the teams right now, but I'm learning. I've been playing as Liverpool in FIFA 13, getting to know them. I think the format is pretty darn cool.
