Looks good. Super in-depth.

One thing I'm surprised by is no mention of there being an option to enable the 5 substitutes rule in the game.

It all looks very promising and is actually quite an impressive amount of changes assuming they work. I like that they finally made seemingly significant upgrades to the defensive side of things. Still not pre-ordering as last year really left a bad taste in my mouth.

Edit: Also glad to see that cancelling shots/passes seems easier now. For the life of me I cant super cancel to save my life.

Two things I wasn't clear on so are handballs officially not a thing now since the ball will purposely just phase through the players arm below the elbow and is the new competitive ai mode only for legendary and ultimate game modes. It really should be an option for all difficulties.

@tinpanalley the notes say that these apply to both console generations and anything specifically related to next gen will be covered separately.

Is the 5 sub rule going to be in play next season too?

I'd imagine if it is, it would be an easy fix.

Would be great for getting youngsters minutes in CM!

I thought IFAB/FIFA or whoever makes rules said that they would allow 5 subs but it's up to the leagues to decide whether they implement it. I personally don't care for the 5 sub rule to extend into 20/21.

Half of this is bound to fail and cause more problems

won’t be getting fifa till December/January after its had some patches when the FUT community complains!!

I like what I read especially on the defensive side of the game, but I don't expect any of this to be fine tuned at release and of course will be heavily influenced by the FUT community on how much take to the changes. We shall see but it's seems that the dev's really want to push stats being a major influence to the players and I'm all for that.
