Playing online with manual controls

I know there are already some threads on using manual controls in online play, but my focus is a little different. I begun playing online recently with fifa19 and I'm finding it very difficult to beat opponents with assisted control; there is rarely a wrong pass. I try to match my controls when searching for opponents but there seems to be rarely someone online playing manual.

I just want to know, from those that play manual online, how far where they able to reach, so that I can establish some parameter as a goal. First division for manual players would be the best division a couple of manual players were able to reach.

Did you try not limiting matchmaking to your region? That can make it easier to find a manual game.

I didn't even know this option. Now that you told me about it, I went after the configuration and found it. Thanks. I'll try it later.

Re: Playing online with manual controls

I still didn't have success finding people with manual controls, but I'll keep trying. There is, nevertheless, another problem that is bothering me. I have been promoted to the next division because of opponents disconnecting. It was difficult to win with manual controls; now it is worse. Players that disconnect should get not points, for sure, but their opponents should be able to choose between keeping the present score or replaying the game. I have gotten 3 victories on the season because of disconnection. This kind of spoils it all.

I was able to get my first game against a manual player. Exciting. A completely different game. Much, much more close to a real football game. Sadly, its still a rare event. I have tried switching to assisted mode in order to balance my games online, but I just feel the CPU is playing for me.

Re: Playing online with manual controls

Ok, until now I wasn't able to find further manual players anymore. This is frustrating. I don't want to convince people to play manual, but it is undeniable that we have two very different games in Fifa: one (assisted) is an arcade game similar in look to football, but is no football at all... not even close; the other (manual controls) comes close to a simulation, that with all its flaws considered, still remember very closely the dynamics of a football game. To be unable to play this one online, even knowing that it is there, is frustrating.

Fifa is focusing the arcade aspect, which becomes obvious by the creation of these altered rules version. Ok, one may like it. Nothing wrong about liking arcade games, but I think that, somehow, this is what PES needs to get back slowly.

If youre on ps4 look at the community section for full manual communities. You can add a bunch of FUMA players to your friends list and play manual friendlies that way

Sadly, I'm on PC. It would be good to have some people listed and be able to, at least occasionally, play with manual controls. Ironically, today I was playing assisted/semi and got a game against someone playing manual, accidentally (rare event). I could see his heroic efforts to try and make the game balanced, but I kept the ball 90% of the time, even if I'm far from being a good player. It was arcade style against real football. I stood in admiration when the guy was able to place some good long passes and some nice passing sequences; not this ping poing thing that takes place with assisted controls.
