And compared to the exhibition game, the game plays so much better, still very much like 16, but slightly better,CPU not being crisp in passing, made more mistakes tan in kick off mode.
But not a wow effect, and I wasn't able do judge how the CPU played (long short) since you only get 10 FIFA minutes to play that mode.
But huge difference between kickoff and Cm.
Did anyone else try this?

Honest, no irony or disdain question:

Isnīt this exactly what was happening last year with the CPU offense? I remember a post of mine saying those exact same words here, and this was the reason why i abandoned FIFA very early last year (also abandoned PES early because, mainly, of the R2 placed shot sure goal).

FIFA CPU offense last year felt without any purpose, desire to score, almost no shotīs from outside except first-time shotīs, 90%+ pass accuracy but no goals/shotīs to show for it, no misplaced risky passes...

I honestly believe this is absolutely intentional! The short halves. I mean, itīs absolutely enough to be mesmerized with the graphics, lightining, presentation, commentary, sound, wich are all awesome... and itīs juuuuust enough for most people not having a chance to see the AI offense problems. Of course, people who have been playing FIFA for a long time, will immediately see how bad the AI offense is, but for the most part, the short halves do make it difficult for people to notice it.

@nunogomes : Nope. Cpu AI offensively was great last year compared to other years. Direct passing, less dribbling, long shots, crosses, etc. It was a joy for me to play EPL in Fifa 16. Not perfect but I had fun. Now after 10+ matches it really feels like EA went back to 2009 at least regarding Cpu AI.
I'll wait for some extended impressions from Matt but I have a feeling he's also massively disappointed by the AI.

I haven't seen too many fouls either. Sometimes it's hard to get close to the CPU attackers on the higher levels though and my FIFA strategy is mainly geared at avoiding contact.

Honestly, i have never experienced that last year, no long shots, no variety on CPU offense, no risk, no difference between teams, too much ball hogging and passing around... so, this year feels like last year to me. But many people enjoyed last year game, so i guess itīs my point of view.

Is it just me, or does the computer take every single corner kick short? Is anyone else noticing this?

I played a couple of matches but had to turn it off, it was just boring.

I do like the presentation and manager visuals, but after the first game I was over it. It just wasn't fun to play. I prefer the feel of 16, if I'm honest.

Gonna try The Journey tonight and see how it goes.

I agree with you.

When I play Fifa the CPU is almost never a threat organically. If I kept track of how many times the CPU beat me in possession but didn't even take one shot, or scored on their only shot (most times shortly after I score or near 45/90 minutes), it would be a landslide in favor of that.

In fairness, the pattern isn't as noticeable unless you play career mode, but since that's all I play, it's a total drag.
