Gifting question...can you receive a gift of a finacial takeover at a level you already used or can you only use a takeover gift for a level you haven't reached yet?

Same question about giving a gift for a level you've passed or haven't reached yet.

Nope you can't gift an item you have already used at least in 14 you couldn't. But you can receive gifts from a level you haven't reached yet.

I've never done gifting, but what is so special about the getting the different boots? Is it just an appearance thing?
