2 QB Formation Subs

I’m looking to run a 2 QB system for my offense (1 for passing, 1 for option) and was wondering if you could set formation subs for a particular play type? I run a gun offense so for certain formations it goes both ways with PA and Option plays, was wondering if i could set a sub for Option or QB run plays only?

Re: 2 QB Formation Subs

Honestly, the best way to do something like this is edit or create a playbook and have different formations as specific groups of plays (one certain formation as all run/option plays) and have other formations specifically for pass plays. I know it would be easy to read for the other team, but for a dynasty against a computer, I don't think it would typically catch on to it.

Agree, creating a custom playbook is the best route to go. I have one I use where I have some pistol full and spread option sets for my dual threat guy. I then have 4 and 5 WR sets for my pocket guy. You can then throw out the plays you never call to streamline play calling.

Re: 2 QB Formation Subs

in 14 nearly every formation has a "qb sub" or "backup qb" sub package

You are correct, but not every formation has plays for a dual threat QB. The OP is looking for a base playbook with formations for his dual threat QB and his pocket passer.

Technically the OP was asking whether there was a way to do formation subs on a per-play basis, instead of a per-formation basis.

The only answer to that is to use the package subs.
