A Lead? Modding Textures in NCAA 14 on PS3

Hi Guys - Happy New Year!

I haven't made any real discovery, but have at least been able to access the encrypted files of the NCAA 14 game on PS3. I'm calling it a night, but thought I'd share my work in hopes of it helping the greater good!

I took... GAME>USRDIR>qkl_fe2ig.ast and ran it through Offzip; a link and brief guide below. I personally did all of the .ast files, but I think bulk of the game's content is stored in fe2ig.ast. Most decrypted files came back as DDS, p3r, or rsf. Having some experience modding other games, DDS is a pretty common type of image file and was largely Ultimate Team cards, but it looks that p3r is also an image file (uniforms, numbers, etc.), while rsf are object files, the few I checked appearing to be stadiums.

What I haven't done yet is to figure out best way to open/modify the p3r files or repack everything and try to run it as part of the game.

If this is all futile, I can at least come out of this with some cool pictures from the Ultimate Team cards

Spoiler

I have now found jerseys, pants, socks, helmets, stadium decorations, fields, mascots and cheerleaders. I have successfully modified all of these and imported them back into the game

You need need nvidia texture tools for photoshop to edit the textures. Says it only works for up to CS6 but I'm using it on CC 2020 just fine.

If you can help me find where team logos are stored then we can do complete team conversion mods. Please PM me if you are interested in helping!

I'd definitely be willing to throw some graphic design help once I understand the goal a little more here. Very curious to see some pictures and examples.

I wont be much help because I haven't modded this game in over a year (and dont plan on it), but here's what I got in 2018.

QUOTE=Kid OS;2049681083]Here's the first image of a modded uniform in NCAA FOOTBALL 14!

This took a lot of time, but it was all worth it. I was able to mod these uniforms by using the RPCS3 Emulator on PC. I also believe that this mod would work on jailbroken PS3's as well. As for now, this is all I've got. It will probably be a while before I make a tutorial, but in the meantime, I hope you enjoy this image. We all knew this day would come.[/quote]

I have now found team logos. Mapping out all textures is taking longer than expected so video showcase will come sometime next week

If anyone can find out how to view/edit RSF files, PLEASE let me know

Pulling for you buddy. If you are able to pull this off you would definitely get the crown. This is the one thing that has alluded us with this game.
