Why aren't we talking about this? IMV GAMING is raising the funds to have this game ready by 2019. I'm not sure why this isn't all over OS. What's the deal?

That's corny. What else do you need to see? "We" the community always talk about we want this and that! I see why 2K hasn't made a game that's going to depend on the community. They'd here stuff like this from you.

Re: New COLLEGE FOOTBALL GAME!!!

This isn't a new revelation. This has been around for about 9 months and there has been talk of it on here:

http://www.operationsports.com/forum...ht=kickstarter

http://www.operationsports.com/forum...ht=kickstarter

The overall consensus opinion seems to be that there is a tremendous lack of money behind their efforts. Without the money, this is going nowhere. Sure there are plenty of "just make it fully customizable and we the community will take care of the all the NCAA related logos and names," but how many copies of a game does that sell? You have to have enough substance in a game to sell enough copies to pay for the project. They tried a kickstarter campaign that failed. They are trying to raise money on their website, but even that is no where close to enough to do anything. As of this morning, they have over $11K, with another $46K pledged to them. That puts them at 6.7% of their $850K goal. Based on how long it has taken them to get to the money they do have, it will take over 11 years to get to their goal.

Hard for anyone to get that excited about a COLLEGE FOOTBALL GAME when it's just a couple of guys on Youtube dreaming of what might be. I see those posts of every couple of months of "if we get a new game, what do you want to see in it."

Are you serious? They raised that in 4 days. Lol. Did you see the video? They have financial support, but they need to secure sales in other to do it. I completely agree with the investor. Why invest if you can't sell the game? Swelling the game means we need to buy now.

Lol. Pretty simple.. But most people want to sit back and criticise, them complain about what they don't have.

Re: New COLLEGE FOOTBALL GAME!!!

This project deserves some hesitation. It looks to repeat a lot of the errors of previous crowdfunding efforts.

1. In Pre-development, aka pre-production. Which means no actual work has started on the game.*
2. Developer pedigree is suspect.
3. Developer image is cultivated towards pleasing fans with little structure to do so.
4. Developer hints at further funding from a publisher after hitting their initial target, but details are deliberately vague. Should such an agreement be in place, secrecy for the publisher makes no sense. They would want the developer to hit their initial target... if the game was worthwhile. And if it wasn't worthwhile they would not make such a deal.
5. Crowdfunding on their own site prevents them from fulfilling their responsibilities should the project fall apart. Kickstarter has policies in place to do so, but other shady projects that have used their own site (Areal immediately comes to mind) have yet to bring anything to fruition. It is an act of sinking money into a project with no promise of legal reprisal. Again, funding on their own site gets them around this potential pothole.

*To have a truly successful crowdfund, you need a tech demo or some gameplay. Examining the last five years of Kickstarter games, games that delivered and those that did not, you see ample evidence of this.

Lastly, coming in here and blasting posters for expressing skepticism doesn't help your thread. Be open to what others say.
