I have this Defensive Coordinator who I "hired" as a zero and cannot be upgraded.. I have read about this year but am so sick of his lazy @ss sitting at a zero for 5 seasons, I HAVE to get rid of him. Is there any trick to fire him, or reset my coordinators? he can't earn points and has sat at zero since hire date.

Not even any points TOWARDS upgrade. Killing my dynasty with pals.

Unfortunately you can't fire coordinators. If the game won't let you "reset skill tree" for that coordinator in the off season, your other option would be to copy down all of this guy's info and create a "new coach" as a copy of the new guy. Yeah, he'll start at 0 too, but he should progress from there.

Note: if you're currently the head coach of the team that has that DC, you won't be able to assign the "new" coach to your team.
