Offline Dynasty Simming (CPU vs CPU) In Order to Just Recruit, I'm addicted, You?

Started a new offline dynasty with Buczneverlose updated rosters. Playing as Duke HC, moved us to the SEC. Normally I play all the games for the points but this time I just wanted to; A- focus on recruiting; B- save all the draft classes quickly for Madden. It's turning into it's own kind of fun now. I love not stressing about whether or not I win or lose and what recruit I may lose because of it. I just love recruiting and get a lot out of it when I focus on it completely.

Anybody else feel this way? What does your team look like after a few years of simming? My career record isn't great, but my recruiting classes got better every year.

Me and my Blue Devils; SPREAD offense, 4-2-5 defense..
2013= 4-8
2014= 5-7
2015= 2-10 (2 of my best QB's got hurt for most of the season)
2016= 6-7 (lost Bowl game, but my depth is great for next year)
2017= 11-3 (SEC Champs, Rose Bowl win!)
2018= 2-3 so far..

My only real issue = My QB (60 SPD) runs an average of 13 times a game for 2.1 YPC, while my stud 4-star speed back has maybe 10 touches at over 6 YPC? The back-up HB always gets about 4-6 carries regardless of how I set the sub-in/sub/out sliders or the pass/run sliders. I've looked at the sacks from the opposing team to see if that's why he has so many carries, but it doesn't add up. I've looked for slider configurations for realistic CPU vs CPU stats, but no luck.

Any ideas?

p.s. If you reply "well don't sim then", just know you're not funny or original and you're probably a d-bag and if all you need is attention don't bother

Try running a different offense. I mean if your QB isn't a runner then maybe you should try an offense that gets your HB the ball more.

As for just simming games, oh yeah, I do that all the time. I always have a game save that is just for that. I love getting through seasons and just seeing what I can do with my team.

What offense would you recommend? If I save a custom playbook and sim a game will the CPU actually use my custom formations and plays? If so, I would put a lot of toss and sweep plays that work for speed backs as well as spread formations to get my stud WR core some work. Maybe that can be tested by re-simming the same game using different playbooks and sliders and compare the stats?

I always end up in the spread since great WR's are so easy to recruit and I tend to avoid playbooks that use a lot of hard to recruit positions like TE's and FB's.

Try using like an air raid offense that just throws the ball a lot. They use whichever playbook you have assigned to your coach, so try a custom playbook if you want.

Thanks, using a custom book based on Pro-Style, seems to be working fine. Added a lot of 3WR sets from the I formation and Ace so I can still take advantage of my receiving corp while getting more touches from my HB. If I target TE's and FB's early, I can still get great WR's in the later weeks.
