Re: NCAA Football 14 Demo is Available Now, Post Impressions Here (360, PS3)

Well here we go. Lets jump right into it yeah??

Lets Start with the cons since I dont have a whole bunch.

CONS

1) I noticed a few plays were my player was clearly tackled and down and the whistler NEVER BLEW! IS that crazy or what?? The crazy thing was that players were still running around like nothing just happened.

2) Clear Interceptions........ Dropped.. Well done CB..

3) Some Weird tackling mechanics here and there. I had a WR bump into a LB and he just flopped like LeBron James.

4) Ive seen quite a few ppl get juked in my life.. but none like in NCAA 14.. Its not a bad thing, but some of the defenders bit on jukes that they shouldnt have.

PROS

1) THE JUKES ARE FKN NASTY! The Jukes cannot be contained.. Nuff said.. Love em.

2) The read option display is cool for players who aren't familiar with the RO or the ZO, but i love this feature as some defenses get complicated and the SS or LB becomes your target read and its key. The pitch read target is cool too.

3) The Live Game updating is pretty nice as well. Its good to see it every once in a while.

MORE COMING SOON!

Yeah, you better provide proof of the game(pic of the game with your username,) or your time at OS will be over.

I did this as well and it did help. The problem with the crowd noise is that it gets loud at times when it should (when home team is on defense) but is not nearly loud enough when it should be (home team scores touchdown). Also, the authentic crowd chants that they recorded for last years game are there but they are not nearly loud enough.

Overall it's improved from last year which was a disaster but, like with many other aspects of the game in this generation, it is a feature that just isn't there yet.

What could make it difficult to "blow out" the crowd audio as they said they did is beyond me. It's a shame because for me the college crowd is a big part of the game atmosphere.

Looked up NCAA 14 Impressions on Youtube.

This came up, if you watch, he completes two deep passes... Both look like DB Glitch. His receiver was wide open twice. ( 7:00 Minute mark of video) Happens at end of half too.

As I said earlier, the CPU still uses Aggressive Zone coverage on for their defensive gameplan, which leads to "Db glitch"

Makes me wonder if I didn't notice it on Coordinator cam. This kind of worries me abit. Everything else is great.

Ok my impressions are only from 2 games so more may come later.

First thing I noticed were the graphics...the field looks nicer but the crowd looks horrible and the players have jaggies all over them.

Now to the game. IE 2.0 has been improved since Madden. I'm liking the way the run option teams go, Oregon was carving me up but I was able to squeak out the win. Same with mobile quarterbacks. They take off at the right times and its great to finally see.

The crowd sounded awesome with the Seven Nations Army but other than that...dead. I almost had a pick 6 and the crowd remained the same volume level...get excited and roar come on!

I like the addition of the stamina bar, I just hope it is implemented well with the auto-sub feature and players rotating in with longer quarters.

I haven't dived to much into coordinator cam yet but it seemed ok from the little i used it.

I don't like the pre-game video. I would say hopefully they can add in the previous games jerseys but going off of what NBA 2K did, that won't happen. Makes no sense to show highlights of a game that hasn't happened yet.

The menu is funky but less laggy then previous version.

Re: NCAA Football 14 Demo is Available Now, Post Impressions Here (360, PS3)

First impressions:

A big improvement in gameplay. Infinity Engine 2.0 is well-done. The cuts when running are a big improvement over past years' gliding. There's also a good feel of momentum. The option on both the user side and the AI is finally effective. The colors pop nicely.

On the downside, the crowd noise is improved but still not loud enough and we shouldn't have to turn down everything else to make it seem louder.....for me crowd noise and chants are a big part of the college experience. The new Seven Nation Army chant is a nice addition but it pops up at odd times (something they'll have to tweak). The cut scenes after touchdowns have to go......years ago they would stick to the action on the field and you could run to one of your guys and do a high five or some other animation and they should stick with that.

While playing as Michigan, I threw an interception at OSU's 20 yard line and the cornerback had a full head of steam to the end zone. The announcer rightly says "nobody is going to catch him" yet two of my lineman suddenly pop into the screen and one of them bumps him out of bounds 10 yards from the end zone. This is a glitch that will hopefully be corrected.

Overall, this is a real big improvement over the last few years. Will I buy it when it comes out......eh, I doubt it. It's a game that I would probably play a lot more than I did with '13 (which I never even finished a season with) but from what I've seen on the demo I don't think it's worth $60. I'll have to play the demo more before I make a final decision........the street date is still weeks away.
