Physics are only going to apply to the ball carrier like madden13

I don't think that's correct Slick, an EAGC goes more into detail about it here;

Big that's a great read and I really like what he said about playing D with the new speed boost

However, no one has really talked about what this means for a defender. During my time with the game, I spent a lot of time playing the linebacker positions and baiting a HB into a hole only to use the burst mechanic to meet him at the LOS. Safeties can use the burst to break on passes such as posts and get to the ball/receiver.
might deserve it's own thread theres a lot of good info there

You have to take the good with the bad when it's a first version of anything. I've seen some beautiful catches, cut backs, and new moments in madden this year that kept the gameplay feeling fresh. Everything just feel scripted in NCAA and I can't stand it.
I wouldn't criticize EA for making an improvement like that either, but there is a point to be made in the difference between releasing a mature improvement versus releasing one that isn't and takes a few years before it doesn't include the comedy of 5 players falling over each other and so on.

IMHO, they should have sat on the infinity engine for Madden and waited until it was solid and ready to be included in the game. Hearing that NCAA got a refined physics engine gives me hope, but one of the things that NCAA has gotten right has been catching and tackling animations. Again, I'm all for the physics engine improvement but not if there are still major bugs that need to be worked out....that is, obvious stuff like players falling all over each other.

As the EA guy said, no game will be perfect but there's a difference between a few rough edges and something that is introduced to a game that makes you think - "Wow, this new feature holds a lot of promise but man, does it need work."

Yeah man, really interested in the defenders actually fighting through contact and avoiding inadvertent collisions to get to the ball carrier. It so frustrating to see your AI teammates get caught up in a cluster freak, lol.

Remember that this is still a WIP guys. With the infinity engine now in, does weight actually matter for OL? Will height come into play for WR/CB interaction? And why no mention of any defensive improvements?
