And it's only ½ way through the season.

How do You like to handle this?

Ah yes, "filling your team needs early", the idea that one could get enough commits to keep them free from tedious in-season recruiting, we have dismissed that claim.

I recruit for depth at position i think may be suscpetible for players to tranfer out of.

For example if I have some young RB's who aren't playing much, and my top RB is getting ready to graduate or even is a junior I might start recruiting RB's because there's a chance the young guys not playing may transfer.

It's been my experience the rate of transfers i this game is much much higher than in past games.

Re: Ahhh, That moment you fill all your team needs

*Because the game allows it....

I'm always looking at POSs where I may lose a guy wanting to turn pro early. A 90+ Jr WR second on your depth chart may look to go, so an insurance WR to fill in the bottom of your depth may be a prudent expenditure of time. If the Jr stays, you can *either cut the recruit or *decide if you want to cut your #6 WR to decrease by at least 1 the ## of WRs you'll need to recruit in 3 years.

You can also *look for recruits to replace returning guys on your depth chart who may not play as much, or *another current guy is real close in OVR and characteristic ##s. A #2 So. OLB that is only marginally better than a RS-Fr #3 guy might be worth the line-up finagling as, by cutting the So., you'd likely be left with (for the next year) a Sr. starter, a So. #2 and a Fr #3. Now you've got a little bit of a buffer when looking for another OLB the following season and the one after that.

I hate the goal of "fill your team needs"

I hate it because I dont recruit the way the game wants me to....and i get punished for it.

BUT to answer your question, I would pick 10 5* guys and go hard after them. IF you get them you get them if not then its no big deal

Re: Ahhh, That moment you fill all your team needs

That is the point where I fill my board with 5* recruits at key positions, mainly WR, QB, and HB. I don't really care if I don't get those recruits, but if I do, then I have top notch depth at a position I am already "good" in. I found a really good ATH QB (81 OVR, 87 spd, 89 TP, 84 TA) this way, he ended up starting for 3 years over some higher OVR guys due to the speed. It helped he was 6' 4" and my SR QB was only 5' 8", I just don't think short QBs have the same AWR as tall ones.
