Post NCAA 13 Game Play Questions for April 17th

Since new information is coming Tuesday, I think it is about time we have a list of game play questions. That way come Tuesday they can answer some of these questions that so far has been dodged left and right. And hopefully they answer them in detail and not some vague answer. I will start it off.

1. How many NEW animations are in NCAA 13 and are they ratings based or just some random scripted freak thing.

2. Improvements to special teams ? As in CPU blocks FGs and Punts. CPU return punts back for a TD ? Coffin corner kicks by the CPU Punters ?

3. Improvements to WR/DB interaction ? As in jostling, pushing, pulling. As it stands now, it is nothing but a foot race from point A to B.

4. Pass interference ACTUALLY being called ? I find it strange I can max out that slider and not ONE gets called. But yet I can put roughing the passer on 54 and it gets called damn near every other play.

5. Changes to offensive line and defensive line interaction ? Is the patty cake animation between Offensive tackles and defensive ends gone ? Will dominate Defensive ends ACTUALLY get passed weaker offensive tackles now ? Or is that suction force field still there like it is in NCAA 12 ?

6. Do weight actually matter in ALL facets of the game now ? Is there some type of momentum or physics in this game ? Where as a 180 pound scat back don't run over a 300 pound defensive lineman. Or players changing directions on a dime with no sort of proper foot planting, slow down or shifting of their body weight.

7. Any changes to the bull rush animations ? I've played this game to death and have yet to see a CPU defensive lineman do this animation on me at all. Also in real life no offensive lineman gets knocked on his butt so quickly and easily with no sort of struggle at all.

Also a stronger Defensive lineman SHOULD be able to push the pass blocker BACK into the QB on passing plays.

8. Will CPU WRs ATTACK the ball this year ? They never jumped for it or fought for it. They just stood there flat footed waiting for the ball to hit them in their hands.

9. Any new catch animations ? Considering this is college here, most college players don't catch the ball with their hands ALL THE TIME. Need way more variety of catches, along with some juggling catches.

10. Improvements to tackling and new tackling animations ? Need way more variety of wrap tackles around the waist and legs. And better wrap tackles up high around the shoulder pads. A lot of the up high tackles last year looked like horse collars and really not realistic due to the angles but some how it happened.

Also tackle logic should be improved. A smaller tackler should always go the legs of a bigger player and not up high. And finally PLEASE get rid of that 2 handed super man push tackle. Half of the time all it did was cause the runner to bounce backwards 3 yards.

11. Improved Scramble logic ? Too many times in NCAA 12 a QB would scramble and then SLIDE when it was only 1 guy in front of him, instead of trying to go around him.

12. Improvements to special moves by ball carriers ? Often I found myself seeing the CPU not use their special moves in the correct situations. They need to spin and juke way more. Also they need to CHAIN special moves together like a COMBO to break down a defender.

13. Any improvements to coach mode ?

14. Any new ratings ? And is the curve for ratings BETTER fine tuned ? A lot of these ratings the curve was so low that VISUALLY game play wise you couldn't see the difference between a player rated 90 in one area compared to a guy rated 50 in the same area.

15. Will route running rating actually mean something this year ? In the past all it did was control if a player slipped in the rain or snow.

You could have 0 route runner vs a 99 route runner in perfect weather and not see a difference what so ever.

16. Will a player stretch the ball out for a first down or to score a TD as he is falling to the ground from a tackle in the appropriate situations ?

17. Will the CPU QB throw pump fakes this year ? Along with send players in motion to throw off the defense ?

18. Different running styles for different type of players ?

19. Does the Cover 2 work this year ? Last year it was BROKEN, safeties never covered over the top. In a cover 2 the safeties DON'T EVER suppose to let a WR get beyond him.

What improvements have been made to Defense/Special Teams. I'm really curious to see if anything has been done to make special teams actually matter. So many times, in college football especially, games are won or lost on a kick being blocked, a punt block, a punt return, a fake FG, etc. but in the game special teams are just there, nothing special about them. Blocking a kick is next to impossible.

-Can the Cpu run the Spread Option Offense Effectively??
Prolific Option Rushing teams like Oregon have been too easy to stifle for too long

-Will CPU DEs/OLB use their pass rushing moves and get up the field

-Has the Heisman CPU Field Goal Kicking logic been fixed
In 12 the CPU would attempt ridiculously long Field Goals

If just 5 of the 20 or so things that the OP listed are fixed for NCAA 13, the game would be a so much better than last year's game. It's shocking how far behind this series has been gameplay wise.

How much was done to CPU play calling? Will they have complete gameplans?

Line interaction, any thing new? Proper technique, double team blocking?

CB vs WR interaction, anything new? Proper technique, cb trying to keep contact with DB?

Will we have weakside and strongside cb, s or de's?

Will CPU run to daylight?

Is the hunchback OL run still in the game?

Will blockers still turnaround and block and ppl they can't see?

Can the CPU make effective option reads?

Will a 6'6 WR go up and get the ball instead of letting a 5'8 corner swat it down each time?

Any new juke animations?

Has acceleration on Zone reads/options been fixed?

Will pancake stats be fixed/added?

Running still the same? Every player has the same running style still?
