It's a new generation, hell there was a time when Demos was a way to get a game out, now your lucky to see a demo for games anymore. Sports games and occasionally other games. Hell they are releasing demos now, months after a game is released (Reach and Fable). it sucks but it is true, with all the enhancements, it's not worth them putting a lot of money into quality assurance as it is to push in that extra feature. Patches gave them that ability. It's a double sided sword in that sense.

Er...no, I don't. I remember a lot of sucking it up and dealing with problems that had no way of getting fixed. I also remember becoming a primarily PC sports gamer during the PS1/early PS2 era due solely to the fact that patches could actually be released for those games. With the later PS2 games I started getting back into console because companies (mostly EA) were losing focus on PC sports games.

I'm doing a 3rd run on Mass Effect 2 on PS3. Sports games annoy me quickly because they come out every year with bugs that can't be addressed either properly or promptly or both, or they ship with bugs that the devs have no intention of fixing. I'm not tripping out too much though. I'm patiently waiting to see what the patch does.

On another note we need to realize what we are dealing with. These annual sports games will be like this every year and nothing will ever change. The devs just can't implement new and innovative ideas while at the same time improving on existing features without the game being messed up in some way. They just don't have enough time to do this without the game shipping with lots of flaws. We see it every year with NCAA whether it's broken fatigue, gray sleeves, broken progression, or whatever, but this year it just happened to be a nasty game freeze bug. That's why the heat is turned up so high.

That's awesome because I am going through my sixth. Mass Effect 2 is the game of all games and has tremendous replay value! Funny thing though, it is made by EA.... hmmmm

It's made by Bioware and published by EA, huge difference.

Dead Space and Dead Space 2 were likewise pretty awesome.

Don't want to be a pain or anything, but can anyone tell me or point out a link where it shows everything the patch is going to do/fix? I've tried searching, but I suck at stuff like that and couldn't find anything other than fixing online dynasty..
