EA's Game Warranty?

Is there anyway to get a total refund from EA for this game? It just seems like if you are not satisfied with a product like this, you could return it directly to the company for a full refund (with proof of purchase). Anyone know?

Don't buy it in the first place. You don't warranty something based on whether the consumer likes it or not.

Actually, threadster, you might be on to something. Although I'm sure EA has covered their butts with a bunch of loopholes.

You do warranty against defects though, and I think what's going on with the game is a big enough defect for some people to want their money back. If I bought a car and they told me that radio, windshield wipers, AC, and heat didn't work until they "resolved the issue", I would probably want a refund for it. No, they aren't NECESSARY things, but they're pretty darn nice to have.

And how are you going to prove that these things don't work as designed? If some of the games were defects and some people were missing data then you could have a point, but saying you don't like the way the game was made and you want a refund is stupid.

It's like saying that a movie wasn't based off the book 100% and you want a refund after buying and watching it or the ending was different than you wanted. Heck, that's even a better claim because there's really nothing you can use to prove that NCAA12 doesn't play right because xxx is what it should really be playing like.

Also, your example is wrong. If you bought the car knowing those issues then you really can't ask for a refund if you bought it knowing it had problems.

Re: EA's Game Warranty?

File a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, EA will email you to correct the complaint, at that time they will ask for your phone number and then they will call you.... at that time I would ask about refunds or discounts towards a future product. I received a 50% code for anything in their online store.

Also forget calling customer service as they are likely to 'not care' as they deal with it all day long... find a corporate office number and call them. I used the San Francisco office for EA and called them directly before I submitted my BBB complaint.

Re: EA's Game Warranty?

Here is my EA transcript talking to customer service:

Brijesh: Hi, my name is Brijesh. How may I help you?
me: I have not been able to play ncaa 12 for 360 for a month now waiting a 2nd patch to fix things wrong with game, so it can make it playable. What is EA doing to help matter, refunds, reimbursement?
Brijesh: As if now there is no ETA for the patch though our engineers are working on the patch .
me: I understand they are working on it, but I paid $60 for a game that is broken.
me: I was planning on buying madden, but with this fiasco, I will definitely wait, so basically I paid full price for a broken product, and EA does nothing to help the consumer?
Brijesh: I do understood you but since the game is a disk version and we can not provide refund from here because there is no way to provide the refund .
Brijesh: How ever if you want we will let our seniors know about the issue and hope it will be resolved soon .
me: So Ea has nothing in place to atleast help alleviate their customers, and in my case a long time customer who has spent alot of money on their games, but now when I have a legit complaint about a game i paid for but is obviously broken in many ways, and all I get is $60 out of my pocket for a game I cannot even play.
Brijesh: I sincerely regret any inconvenience but EA is looking forward to do some thing about the issue .
Brijesh: I can understood your frustration but we have to follow the company policy .
me: which is what exactly?
me: EA Sports - It's in the game, and it's broken?
Brijesh: As I say they are working on the issue .
Brijesh: and it will be fixed soon
me: ok, thanks
Brijesh: You are welcome

Re: EA's Game Warranty?

How is "It's broken" a legit complaint about a game? All the whiners on these boards act like this stuff has never happened before. EA has a history of releasing games with problems, everyone should know this by now. If you don't want to deal with the problems don't buy the game or do some research on the game first. That way we won't have to read the same whinning every year.
