VT Hokies 2011 Roster as Case Study on How Closely Video Game Players Match Real Ones

BELOW IS MY REVISED VERSION OF MY WORK AS OF 6/4/2011
> >
In order to help me answer a question I raised in anther thread about a month or so ago regarding how closely players and teams in the EA Sports NCAA football video games resemble actual college players and teams, I have derived my own overall player ratings for the Virginia Tech Hokies 2011 roster and researched the team's depth chart. I have followed the team closely for many years. I have also followed this season’s spring ball as closely as one could from a distance. My depth chart does not reflect the final spring depth chart. I have instead produced a depth chart as it should be when the season starts, all those players who have been injured and missed all or part of spring ball return and players move back to their usual positions. When the game is released in July I will compare the roster, depth chart and overall player ratings that are found on the DVD-ROM to my own and post my conclusions. I will also look at some ratings other than the overall ratings, study jersey numbers, heights, weights, races, and home states and post these findings as well. It will be interesting to see whether the game reflects the final spring depth chart or the projected depth chart that should be in place when the team plays its first game of the season. I predict that in the end the video game version of the team will be far less a match for the actual team than most would suspect. I think this will be especially true as one goes further down the depth chart. The closer my predictions are to what the real players deserve in as far as overall ratings the more meaningful this case study will be. I therefore encourage all those interested to post differing opinions on player’s overall ratings. The “*” indicates a player who should not be included on a realistic 68-man roster. I have accounted for 94 players. All players who could possibly be included in the game are covered here.>>

The team still has a B+ Offense, a B+ Defense and is a B+ overall.

why does it matter any? We ALL KNOW it's good ole HB #x, who just happens to look and have pretty much the same attributes as Joe Everyplayer, who happens to play HB for the Wildcats. Just give it a rest dude. I don't see what you are trying to prove.

I saw one poll that had them at 18th in the nation. A team ranked 18th should have around a B+ Offense, a B+ Defense and be a B+ overall.

I am not trying to prove anything. I am trying to determine something for the sake of my own curiosity. Since I am not the only one who is interested in such things I have started this thread. If you are not curious about something that I am curious about then it is simply a case of to each his own. Maybe when it comes to attacking threads started by others you should give it a rest.

Can I take your post to mean that you think I am going to get EA Sports in trouble? DO I REALLY HAVE TO EXPLAIN THIS ISSUE AGAIN?

A month or so ago? Pretty sure you talked about this only a week ago in the other topic. And we all know QB #12 on Miami is supposed to resemble Jacory Harris.
