Texas A & M vs. Hawai'i

Getting ready to finish up my first season in my dynasty with Hawai'i. I am matched up against #23 Texas A&M in the Humanitarian Bowl. Defense has always been an issue for me so im looking for some defensive tips to help shut down Texas A&M. My defense is last in the nation in total defense and passing defense, rushing defense is ranked 119. So my defense is pretty terrible and i think it's because i really don't fully understand how defense is played, based on down and distance and so on. So if anybody has some pointers for defense that would be great. Also, anyone who has managed to shut down Texas A&M please fill me in. Thanks.
