recruiting and playing games only 2 aspects of franchise?

What about interacting with players already on the team? Making yourself as a coach, look good to the school, press and fans? Dont get me wrong I love the fun in recruiting but I feel its pretty much the only "RPG" aspect of being a coach that we can do right? Can someone correct me if im wrong.

well they dont tout it as an rpg type mode, they tout it as recruit players and build your dynasty...

All those things are cool you mentioned, but recruiting and playing games already take up enough of my time.

I mean recruiting is great and all and really gets you to interact with the recruits and sort of get attached to them. But once they make the team that level of interaction is gone. I just feel like you work so hard to get these kids to play for your team then never have to worry about them again once they are on the team.

The recruiting is already way too time consuming for me, I sim it this year. All the other RPG options are things I would skip if they were included.

I liked in-depth recruiting in CH2K8 because you're only going after a small amount of players. Trying to do that same amount of work with a football team is too much for me.

To further grasp the sense of RPG, NCAA would just need to expand the role of assistant coaches. Not adding coordinators which I know people want, I mean just expand on what I can delegate them to do. For example: maybe I just want to recruit the QBs, I could have it where my assistant coaches recruit the rest I would just give the final go ahead. Easy way for the guys who don't have time to do all of the recruiting.

Yes, there are a lot of realistic aspects of coaching left out. And it's sad.

The responses here have shown that most people would either sim that stuff or not want it in the game, but I want it in, and would play it. Why go racing through the game so I can hurry up and put it back in the case and on the shelf? Why not have fun and enjoy it as much as possible?

And, I think EA, if nothing else, owes game players and explanation of why feature requests like this are constantly left out. Acknowledging your customers' concerns, even if the answer is still "no", means they're listening and care about building a great product. Anything less than that shows me that they're okay with coming up short on quality.

This is correct.

It is still fun but there is only so much you can do or experience as it is. There could/should be so much more.

It is basically just very watered down. Unfortunately most people who play the game just want something simple for whatever reason. They are catering to people who want glorified exhibition matches instead of people who want some kind of actual "dynasty mode"

It is annoying and will likely only be more simplified as time goes on but if that makes them money then there is really nothing to do about it.

I think maybe 5-10 or so years ago, making games more complex and strategic was in vogue and the game makers learned that is just not what the majority of people want. They want something simple. You can see the dumbing down of games across the board in all genres now. Sucks for those of us that want more to our games but there is really nothing that can be done about it.

The game is a lot of fun but it is just sad to think how much more fun it would be with more actualdepth. It is not that they cant do it because they have in the past. It is just that they choose not to.
