No slider, it has been this way since I can remember. I just set up my audibles for shotgun and pick a pass play and then audible to the run. In past years if you would come out near the goal line for a pass the defense would run a base defense but if you came out to run they would come out in goal line.

This has happened in every EA football game ever. The real frustrating part is when the computer knows what kind of play you AUDIBLE to.

That definitely takes away from the games authenticity. I mean come on they need to patch this asap!!
People worried about colored socks being in.the game and letting this non sense slide!!!

Re: computer knowing you run or pass in shotgun

It sounds like something that happens when you are playing on Heisman where the computer AI basically has telepathy and is all over your play 90% of the time.

As far as the computer AI knowing if you are running or passing, my question would be "How do you know they picked a good defense for the run or pass?"

You have to factor in a lot of things first off. Are your tendencies out of the shotgun tipping your hand? Are you doing certain things on specific down and distances? Do you have a pattern of play calling that the AI is picking up on?

Even if, there are still pass plays that are good for man coverage vs. zone coverage. And there are good plays versus the blitz regardless of zone or man.

I understand what you're saying that the CPU will come out in a 4-3 sometimes, but I do that as well if I see a team likes to run on first down or in a specific situation(regardless of formation).

You're spreading it out so you can run and the CPU is on to that.

I suggest you practice recognizing coverages and blitzes and spend some time setting up audibles to defeat each kind.

Great question and topic.

I understand that you have to mix play calling but in real life if I had 4 wides no defense would match up with 3 linebackers on the field! They would maybe bring the safety up to the line of scrimmage but never would they match linebackers with slot receivers.

Re: computer knowing you run or pass in shotgun

this usually happens on Heisman. I haven't seen it much on AA.

That depends. I'll come out in my base 4-3 or 4-4 no matter how many wide outs are there if I think you are going to run the ball or if my linebackers are fast, decent in coverage and can hit like a ton of bricks.
