What do Native Americans themselves think?
This is where it gets kind of odd. In actuallity, less than 18% of Native Americans are offended by Indian Mascots in pro sports. In a March 4, 2002 Sports Illustrated 7 page editorial entitled "The Indian Wars", a poll was conducted amongst Native Americans. Surprisingly, the following information was gathered:
"Asked if high school and college teams should stop using Indian nicknames, 81% of Native American respondents said no. As for pro sports, 83% of Native American respondents said teams should not stop using Indian nicknames, mascots, characters and symbols."
This begs the question: If it doesn't bother Native Americans, why are so many non Indians taking up a fight against Indian mascots in pro sports? The answer is rather odd, but could be attributed to the misunderstanding of the real meaning of Redskin, or it could simply be moral guilt. This is our attempt to make amends for something we were never a part of and could not control. The compaign against the Native American by the United States was a dark part of our nation's history. Perhaps this is the reason for today's offense towards the use of Indian mascots.
Most Native Americans are not only not offended, they're actually fans!
The odd thing is that not only are most Native Americans not offended, but they a large number of them are actually fans. For a number of Native Americans, the Redskin image itself is of a proud chief and it bestows pride and accomplishment. It is not a caricature of an Indian. In fact, what truly offends Native Americans are caricatures, such as the big nose of the Cleveland Indians logo, or the tomahawk chop of the Altanta Braves.
There is an interesting angle on how Native Americans view indians as mascots. In Montreal Canada, McGill university is one of North America's most prestigious educational institutions. Between 1982 to 1992, both its football and hockey teams had an Aboriginal Chief in full head gear as their Mascot. An Aboriginal in Canada is simply a Native American in the United States. The team name is "Redmen". The university decided to stop using the mascot at the request of a non-Aboriginal student. Before the decision was reached, the University consulted with the Chief of the First Nations in Canada and with an Aboriginal team member, Both were fine with the use of the mascot and actually wrote letters attesting to their support.

... I love you

yep, Sports Illustrated went to reservations and saw people waling around in Chiefs t shirts and stuff.

People fail to realize that if it wasnt for sports teams most indian history would be forgotten.

I feel sorry for schools/ teams like Marquette,Rutgers and St Johns for giving into whiney small interest groups istead of spending the money to challenge them or not even pay attention to them and brush them aside.

A Dakota hockey team won its case in court to keep its name and so did the Redskins. Other teams should take note of that and follow suit.

Its because of sports I have a fascination with Indian teams.
I have a Chiefs jersey, a 1937 Redskins replica and a Blackhawks replica of like the 1940s or something and I practically stick with an Indian theme with most of my team builder teams. I may not get the tribe names exact with locations but its all in fantasy fun.

There's a problem with the Right Tackle, in pass protection.

This looks like a carry over from a problem in Madden 10.

The Right Tackle is a swinging gate vs a user controlled edge rusher.

I played Texas-Oklahoma on AA, using Oklahoma.

Here are the ratings of the 2 Texas Tackles

LT: 90 Overall, 90 Awareness, Pass Block: 87, Pass Block Strength 80, Pass Block Footwork 90

RT: 90 Overall, 88 Awareness, Pass Block 88, Pass Block Strength 84, Pass Block Footwork: 86

--They are pretty much close to being the same type of player. The RT is stronger the LT, but the LT has a slightly higher awareness and foot work rating

Oklahomas DE's

LE: 89 Overall, 81 speed, 82 strength, 81 Block Shedding, 83 Finesse Move, 79 power move

RE:88 Overall, 73 speed, 84 strength, 82 Block Shedding, 68 Power Move, 82 Finesse Move.

LE is more of a speed rusher, the RE is stronger (yet he has a low power move rating? odd).

--Im able to blow right by the RT nearly at will..with the shoulder dip to the outside, or in..Im not even snap jumping, I just dip right on by him...once in awhile I'll get shoved down, but virtually very time..I can whip the RT very easily.

The LT, he stands his ground much better..he takes a good angle and tries to ride you wide if you try to go outside, and I actually had to make a counter move, and mix it up, more often then not.

If you flip the DEs, you get the same results. The RT, for some reason, cannot get into proper pass protection position.

I know this from first hand experience in my Madden 10 online league. The league leader in sacks is a user controlled Mario Williams...flipped to the Left side, so he can go up against the RT.

When we played, he was bursting into the backfield with ease. I have two 97 rated offensive tackles.

Its a definite AI soft spot.

I belive if there are 5 or more defensive lineman, then your QB will just dive forward. This was in NCAA 10 as well, it was done to stop all of the cheesing with the QB sneak which was unstoppable.

Not to mention that it seems as if EA has made it so you fumble way more now with the QB. QB sneak is hardly "money" anymore at all..
Now dont misunderstand me im a loyal purchaser of the series but when will we EVER get multiple motions in the backfield? i mean its in the game right? Ive had people challenge that you cant put players in motion multiple times in College football?! Ahh yea you can. An for that matter if you watch NFL football there is multiple motion there also. An i do believe that you can have multiple motions there.
You can only have ONE man in motion when the ball is snapped at every level of football. What you are referring to is pre snap formation change but all players must be reset for at least one second before the ball is snapped. By the way this is in the game and has been for years by just calling an audible to a different play in a different formation.

Wow Demarco Murray from a mid 90's speed last year to 82. And Ryan Broyles one of OU's fastest players has an 83 in speed. Sucks to be a Sooner this year. Two of the biggest play makers hindered by mysterious lacks of speed. Good agility dont get me wrong but why no speed?

Not even close I missed a 4th and in. when my line created a truck sized whole. The QB basically just got the ball and dove straight to the ground.
