Looks like my money may be going else where this year. I really don't think they deserve too credit for formation subs at this point considering it took them this long into this gen to finally include them.
I agree. Formation Subs is huge but not enough to make me want to buy the game. Other than the FS, there was really nothing in that article that I even cared to read about.

What's done is done, I'm all about getting it right, NOW, not worrying about what they screwed up in the past. There's no question they are off to a quality, positive start with this list of what they termed MINOR things they've worked on.

To sit there and lament the fact that they didn't talk about every detail of the game right off the bat is just being unreasonable. We all know EA is a marketing beast, there will be things that are overhyped, there may be moments when people will feel lied to, and there will be moments where you begin to question whether they are actually listening again. But you cannot deny this is a very positive start for NCAA Football 11. It's like scoring a TD on the opening kickoff. Just because you did that, doesn't mean you've won the game, there's still plenty of time left. Let's see how this evolves before we rip on them.
This announcement of features would be like Toyota coming out and boasting about how they improved the aerodynamics of the rear view mirror. Right now Toyota has much worse issues with their vehicles that what people want to hear is that " they found the problem and fixed it" This is what I am waiting to hear from the NCAA team. All the aerodynamics or sweet new heated chairs dont mean a hill of beans if the accelerator pedal gets stuck and cars are crashing all over the place. Same with NCAA....all the graphics improvements to player models they make, doesnt fix the gameplay. Its still just a more shiney pile of poo.

EA and Toyota are in similar situations. NCAA football has monumental problems to overcome, but those same problems are never addressed. Instead they add a mouthpiece or numbers to a helmet and the mob goes crazy. I will be ecstatic to start hearing when they address the very issues that have been plaguing this series for more than half a decade or more.

No this post is like Toyota saying leather seats ,wood grain and crome wheel is standard. Windsocks ,auto-qb, fieldgoal nets = side view rear view mirrors.

Thumbs up custom playbooks and play designer better be in it this year too!

And the play designer --which IS AVAILABLE FOR MADDEN via psp--HAS to have the qb (double & triple) handoff-pitch & FAKE handoff-pitch options and the scripting of preplay motions as part of the choices available (also ideally they would have individual off/def linemen play adjustments "while in game" to stop cheesing by building on that type of innovation which was 1st developed by EA in HEAD COACH 09).

If they make these changes AND add a well done halftime highlights show (ala NFL 2k5) with collegiate marching band music (not random rock/hiphop crap) and use college analyst/coach equivalent to what Chris Berman does for the NFL games (Reece Davis?...or better yet beg the EPIC voice: Keith Jackson out of retirement for a short time just to do this!) and it would/will make NCAA 11 the best game ever. Ever.

Aside from the semantics, this is exactly how I feel about the current generation of EA football. The saying "What have you done for me lately" comes to mind. In the past 4-5 years NCAA has vaguely changed its game play "engine". They may have added features like hit stick, highlight stick, and pro tac but they havent changed the biggest problem that the game currently has and that is the game play.

Many people say sit and wait to see what new things they are adding. I just compare what they have done overall as a body of work to enhance the game from year to year and typically its add one new game play gimmick and then a ton of fluff. I wont settle or be happy for that. If you dont like my opinions then ignore them or respond in a civil manner.
