Re: dynasty schedule problems...

I did a test dynasty with UGA simming up to the third season. I noticed going into the second season that the UGA/GT game was NOT the last game of the season. If you ask me, that game should be a lock. I mean, it is ALWAYS played the Saturday after Thanksgiving. I guess the same would be said for Florida/FSU, Alabama/Auburn, Clemson/S. Carolina... Those games should always be the final games in ones schedule. Plus, UGA plays Florida in late October/early November. It's been that way for a good while. One could go to College Football Data Warehouse and look up seasonal data for each teams schedule through the years. (Google it since i am not that much of a poster)

I really don't like the shifting of SEC East schools all around my calendar knowing that hasn't been the case since the 90's. If I had a custom conference, yeah, they could move however they want. I dunno. I'll be doing some more testing this weekend.

Re: dynasty schedule problems...

Well, I just simmed South Carolina's first season and is now looking at season 2's sked. The Carolina v. Clemson game is in the right spot (week 14) but all other rivalry games in the SEC occur in Week 13 (Florida/Fla. St., Georgia/Ga. Tech). Sadly, Alabama v. Auburn happens in week 12! In week 14, the SEC is pared with a lot of MAC teams, some WAC teams and a few independent teams.

Just simply leave intrastate rivalry games on week 14.

First off, I know nothing of writing code for games but as an experienced college football fan it is clear that certain games are played at certain times of the year. Would it be so difficult for the devs to organize the production of the game by assigning 1 conference to a group and have one person in that group be in charge of finding out all the details about how the conference operates (Conf. Scheduling Patterns, Traditions, Recruiting Tendencies, Correct Uniforms, Team Entrances, etc.) By dividing up the mammoth task of all 120 FBS team into 1 conference per group of employees, this may provide more attention to detail.
Who knows they very well could already be operating with this structure

Re: dynasty schedule problems...

Wow. I used to think I was being somewhat petty getting frustrated when Texas and OU would play a night game, which has never happened in the history of the series.

I usually just shrugged it off thinking that eventually that would be fixed. Again, I'd just blow it off considering that these were seriously minor issues, yet thing just keep getting worse with every new game.

I've always felt like you should be able to control the game times and the weather in your dynasty. I know many players wouldn't like this, seeing as it is of course unrealistic to be able to control the weather. However, I'd just like to be able to make the conference games that I see on television appear the same in my dynasty. For those who hated it, perhaps there could remain a "random" setting. What was the quote from the Madden developer? "It's your game, you should be able to whatever the Hell you want with it." I'm a fan of this philosophy. It'd be difficult to understand why anybody would disagree with that.

My confidence in EA's gumption when it comes to finally fixing the little things have dwindled to approximately less than zero.

Seemingly, the trend with this series is to just continue to get less attentive to details while creating more bugs than what was there to begin with. Depressing.
