This is so seriously lame, I can't even fathom that EA is even trying to make a real football anymore. This new game has almost none of the features that I or the majority of the community wanted. WHY?

I figure it's because they're trying to appeal to folks outside the hardcore community. Season Showdown is a big glossy feature that they can advertise as something brand new that is easy for newbies to understand, where alot of outsiders may not know or care about formation subs. They need a big, flashy product to advertise to casuals, and Season Showdown is it.

Hardcore community? Even the "softcore" community probably doesn't give a crap about Season Showdown. EA completely dropped the ball this year.

We don't have chain gangs, but hey, we have season showdown..fail
We don't have refs, but hey, we have season showdown..fail
We don't have formation subs, but hey, we have season showdown..fail
We didn't fix the gameplay, but hey, we have season showdown..FAIL

Agree 100% with you. I wasn't agreeing with them, I was just analyzing their motivations.

It seems as though all the features that are not in the game this year are the ones I wanted the most. Anyone else feel this way?

For the most part I agree, but I do like the addition of teambuilder.
