Thoughts everyone? I'm holding on to my copy of 25just in case lol. Na, sounds good to me based on the numbers EA made with this game this year.

Eventually, athletes will want more and more money leading to significantly increasing costs that EA will have to pay. I can't imagine this would be anytime soon, but at some point, they will have to analyze these increasing costs compared to what they're bringing in from sales.

I know not everyone feels this way, but I honestly would be 100% fine if they just went to generic players. (or even just gave you the ability to just generate a random roster)

I dont play Ultimate team or anything online. I just play off-line dynasty where I start with a very low level team and build them up. In the older games, I didn't know the names of any of the players on my default roster and didn't care.....because they were gone after 4 seasons anyway.

I would care a lot more in a college hoops game (if they ever brought it back) because I have a big school that I used to play with (so I'd want the real roster).....but if the only way we got that game back was nameless generic players...sign me up.

I think the only way to get the schools to sign on is with real players and with them getting paid. Without real players, I don't believe many of the Schools would sign on.

I'd rather have a game with real players and all 134 schools than a game with generic players that's missing 10-15 schools.

At the end of the day it's business. Agents representing players will either price themselves out of the market or they won't. EA, or any game developer will make a game if they can make a "reasonable" ROI. With so many college players it's hard to say if a deal that makes everyone happy can be done?

What EA can't do, IMHO, is pass on the extra cost to the user, ie a base game with a $80 to $100 price tag. Not happening if Madden is $69, that has the advantage of dealing with the NFLPA and it's limited number of players.

Part of the fallout of this situation is what happens to the idea of college basketball making a return based on the success of CFB25? I'm guessing a lot of suits are thinking it won't be worth the effort.
