Re: Will College Football 26 Be on PC? Explained

I built a PC to play cfb25. To my disappointment, no PC release.

I don't expect the potential legal issues around NIL/ player likeness will stop a PC release. Similar licensing exists in Madden and FIFA for players and teams, right? Both are on PC.

I couldn't care less about modding to get real players in the game anyway. The rosters look 99% accurate to my eyes after the recent roster updates.

I want the CFB26 on PC for a few reasons:
1. Performance. My 4090 should be able to run the game at native 1440 or 4k resolution, ultra settings between 60-120fps.

PS5 looks awful with the upscaling and poor frame rates. Cutscenes are 30, but gameplay is a bit better.

2. Modding to enhance GAMEPLAY. Sliders can only do so much. I want modding to get the game to play like I want.

What year did EA ever release the old NCAA Football series for PC?

Edit - 1998? Ok, that's a lot of years in between NCAAF 14, enough so that I'd be surprised if EA has any interest in going the PC route now, since it's been what, 27 years since their last college football foray into personal computers.

On the flip side, College Football 25 reportedly has sold more units than any other console sports video game ever released. The old NCAA Football games, by my recollection anyway, rarely if ever outsold Madden. The times are different.

CFB 25 runs on the same engine and general code base as Madden, which already runs on PC. Why not add another platform and add to that massive player base? The audience for College Football is demonstrably present.

I'm not predicting that it will happen because I know first-hand that the effort to port any video game to an additional platform is significant. But I also don't think NCAA Football 98 has any bearing on this question lol.

Hopefully if it ever makes to PC, it will become available on the Nintendo Switch too. I'd love some portable college football .

Apparently PC gaming is rising quite a bit, and EA has already pushed a lot of their other titles to PC.

At the risk of setting myself up for disappointment, I'll say that I expect that 26 will be on PC.

It may of sold more copies in the US than any other sports game they always leave that big detail out. It came nowhere close to games like fifa , ect.

Factor in that it is the first CFB game in 11 years and not placing in the top 3 in US sales would likely be considered a disappointment by EA. Given the history of the game, I wouldn't anticipate a PC game unless CFB26 is nearly the success 25 was.
