Teams not playing enough conference games when using custom conferences

I’m working on finalizing my custom conferences for my dynasty but have noticed an issue where 4-12 teams don’t play their full amount of conference games and instead they play an extra non-conference game. Has anyone else noticed this or worked around it? I’ve tried a variety of required conference games numbers from 8-11, no Independents, etc but still have this issue. And it’s annoying to troubleshoot because it takes me 5+ minutes to recreate all the conferences every time to test it out.

It's completely broken and since they lock conference games AND cpu teams, there's absolutely no way to fix anything. The flaws in this game are staggering once you pull back the pomp and circumstance.

Even if you do get the correct number of conference games, the H/A may be staggeringly off. I had one where teams had 2 home conference games and 7 away conference games.

I'm looking at one right now with stock conferences and the number of "5 conference away games in a row" is disgusting. If you end up with away games from week 5-9, you might as well stop recruiting any contested players, because you have no games to schedule visits (assuming you don't get the locked out visit glitch anyway).

So, custom conferences break scheduling. Stock conferences break scheduling. Scheduling is broken.

Yeah hopefully they’re aware of the bugs with it and are working on it. Between this, sim stats being pretty far off, too many upsets when simming, CFP/T25 poll issues, and a couple of recruiting bugs, I’m holding off to start my dynasty until the patch. Just hoping it’s out soon so I can start.

They’re aware of this one and I’m pretty sure they even gave us a workaround for the time being. It’s in their recent article where they list the known issues and what they’re working on.

Don’t remember offhand the workaround, but I think it was something like set conference to have divisions, and then remove the divisions, or something like that. If you Google it I’m sure you can find the details.

I think that was just for the PAC12 unfortunately, the issues I’ve been seeing seem to effect all conferences.

Was hoping the patch fixed this issue but unfortunately it hasn't. I have tried a lot of different combinations of various settings and there's still always 2-10 teams that play 1 less conference game than they should and 1 more non-conference game than they should.

It'd also be great if we could get the list of protected rivalries or at the very least, an option to not observe them. For example, Notre Dame will always play Navy, Stanford and USC no matter what. So if you put them in the Big 10 then this will always be 3 of their non-conference games and these will override their conference games so if you try to set the B10 to play 10 conference games ND and another team will always only play 9.
