Sideline routes still broken?!

After decades of the issue of rb and wars running to the sideline on outs and other routes, they still just run out of bounds when they have clear yards up front. Still no awareness but them to slow down and cut up field. Very frustrating when they are the check down and should be an easy 5 yards instead of 1 to 2. This issue goes back to the ps1 Madden games.
