Kids today won't recall the days of "RB #7"

NIL deals that made EA College Football possible erases a bygone era of an NCAA Football launch.

Playing games with "RB #7" and "QB #10" while waiting for a community of nerds here to individually name each player and make their roster file available for download to a memory card.

*takes long drag*

Those were the days... lol

Waiting 3 weeks to start a real dynasty was something special. Wait for the game release, then wait again to play it fully.

Seems like there always a reason why dynasties can’t be started when the game releases.

How about mailing a memory card to someone to get the rosters. Or trying to get the damn Sharkport to connect to download rosters.

Now they'll see DeSean Marion, white cornerback, #67. And this time they won't be able to do anything about it.

I loved these days. Starting with the #7 HB or whatever and eventually seeing the game fill up with named players. It was so satisfying.

Never saw a reason to wait to start a dynasty in the NCAA games. But that's just me. I would always start my dynasty on day 1.

Forgot to add he was a 5 star from Dallas who signed with Bowling Green and had one of 4 defensive touchdowns scored in the country his freshman year.

Same. I always started at a small school, so I just auto-generated names since I wasn't ever gonna see or play those top guys anyway. Within 3-4 seasons it's all generated guys mainly anyway.
