Colorado, UNC and USC as top 25 defenses is EGREGIOUS. Iowa should at minimum be top 5

22nd in def 3rd down %
124th in def 1st allowed
121st in ppts per game allowed
53rd in sacks
81st In tackle for loss
127th in total yards

Even though 2024 ratings is a projection there is no way to justify Colorado going from that to where they have them rated going into the season.

Question: what weight is given to starters vs. backups in these ratings? Or if a team has great starters but no depth, would that matter as much as a team being pretty solid throughout the depth chart?

More of the same with the offenses. Probably worth noting that with this being a video game, this is more of a list of the most talented units, not the best. That tends to favor teams with perhaps a lot of talent brought in, but will probably not gel very well together, like Colorado. And a defense like Iowa's will probably get dinged because while they play well together, they're just not as individually talented as defenses like Ohio State and Georgia. No strong opinions though, none of these teams have played a snap yet. I just like the high range of overall ratings from just 1 to 25.

I’m impressed they correctly identified that Iowa’s defense is not actually that good and they perform very poorly against good teams.

VT at 14 is pretty funny and that’s coming from a VT fan.
