Edit: in the system ui click on the perks section of Gamepass on X Box to claim your free packs.

It's not free. Xbox players pay for the service. Game Pass Ultimate is $180/yr vs $60/yr for PS+.

You just need Gamepass for the game, not Ultimate.
Also, Gamepass is nothing like PS+

You're right. Game Pass is $10/month. I only compare it to PS+ because Sony players often retort with "but we pay for PS+". Either way, Xbox players are paying $120/year to get these games.
