Ability to play friends on DD? (MLB The Show '16)

I apologize in advance if this question has already been asked/posted somewhere, but will we be able to play friends on Diamond Dynasty this year? I am not worried about gaining rewards or rankings from playing friends, but would just like the ability to matchup against a friend for an exhibition matchup. Any input on this topic would be greatly appreciated.

well you can go into a game lobby and play them through there but you cant use your DD team. but ya i have a few friends buying 16 this year(it will be their first ever mlb game) and i cant wait to beat their butts

This is not correct. They added a feature this year that will allow you to play against your friends in DD.
