Re: Just starting DD - Suggestions?

I played the Show for years and just started the DD mode this year. Try entering diamond dynasty in the search query. There are a few blogs you should check out that I found really great (I'd link em but there's a few for you to browse). Try the one about disrupting the market and the best bargains one. Very helpful. I started playing RTTS and a little Franchise and built up some stubs before I started DD. Gotta tell ya I am really having fun. You'll prolly catch on really quick with your UT background.

Re: Just starting DD - Suggestions?

DD honestly isn't all that different from other ultimate team modes. It works the exact same way: build a team through the market and packs and play other people. The biggest difference I've noticed is that DD is much simpler than mut. Things are organized a bit better and it's easier to navigate through the menus at times. It's not perfect, mut does a few things better, but so far I like DD much more.

i cant say im a big fan of the idea that you can buy stubbs for cash
so basically, if you're willing to spend enough money, you can have whatever you want..
that alone almost kept me from ordering it..
but i needed something to play until M16 comes out

Re: Just starting DD - Suggestions?

I play a lot of UT modes myself, here are a few things that should help you get started:

1) No contracts! That's right, no player contracts are needed in DD, which is great if you aren't into the micro-management aspect of UT modes. If not, you may get bored quickly as the game modes are limited.

2) The market dynamic is much different than UT/MyTeam. It works on a buy/sell system which is fairly easy to profit from once you learn it. If you're getting planning on spending your 12k stubs in DD, you're much better off studying the market and investing in flipping cards than buying 12 standard packs.

3) Player cards are upgraded/degraded depending on season performance. Whereas other UT modes release separate performance cards, DD adjusts the individual player card, meaning the card value can raise/drop significantly as the MLB season progresses.

4) Complete Collections if you want Legends. Last I checked, you could complete lower Collections like the Rockies and Dbacks for less than 4k, these alone will help you build a decent squad quickly. Note that unlike MyTeam, you cannot resell cards once you've completed a Collection.

Have fun!

Re: Just starting DD - Suggestions?

is there a site that list/tracks recent sell prices of the cards, so you can see their current value... to help with deciding which ones are good flips?

something like the DB at muthead?
