When I finally decided to cut back on my system collecting, I donated my Sega CDX and my Sega Nomad to the Goodwill. Whoever found those are in total disbelief.

Re: Retro Console/Game Collecting Thread

After almost pulling the trigger on an Xbox One, I decided to stick with my 360 (picked up a newer 250 GB model a couple of years ago) and have rapidly built up my collection of non-sports games that I had yet to check out.

First game up is Alan Wake. Finished the first chapter in one sitting and I'm hooked on the game.

-------

Went to my local retro store to support Small Business Saturday, and picked up some GBA games I had been looking for for a long time, including the first Advance Wars.

Almost picked up an N64, especially when I saw a copy of No Mercy for $10, but decided to pass because I just don't have the time to add another gaming system into my current schedule. The N64 was $50, which I thought was a fair price.

I thought people were pulling my leg back in the day, but yeah, that game is actually a lot of fun.

Re: Retro Console/Game Collecting Thread

Anyone else got one of these? Heard only 5,000 were released in the US at the time. I got lucky and still have mine along with my Dreamcast and NES in my collection. Had an Atari up till college, but came home to find it thrown out....

Re: Retro Console/Game Collecting Thread

I started collecting earlier this year. I tend to focus on sports games and other games that I would play. Most collectors would consider my focus on sports game as a waste of time. But it certainly doesn't break the bank!

Consoles I currently have:

N64
Genesis
Dreamcast
Playstation (PSX and PSone versions)
PSP
PS Vita
PS2
PS3
PS4
Xbox
Xbox 360
Super Famicom (Japanese).

Here is my list of games: http://www.sortitapps.com/items.php?...ype=videogames

Collecting is a pure nostalgia fix. It brings back a simpler time and I still have friends wanting to pop in NHL 94 or NBA Jam on the Genesis. The current gen games are nice but the gameplay of the past doesn't get old!

I love collecting sports games to see the old rosters and finding game modes that have long been forgotten (example: expansion drafts in NHL 2000 and Triple Play series).

Re: Retro Console/Game Collecting Thread

Back in the PSP game, as I picked up a used (a couple of minor surface scratches on the back. Screen in excellent condition) black 2001 model today.

Got some games as well:
Split Second
Field Commander
Silent Hill Origins
Hot Shots Golf Open Tee 2
Metal Gear Ac!d

PSP is great to collect for now, as most games can be found for under $10-15.
