Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion

Just like Sony catching up and eventually surpassing Xbox 360 in sales last gen, I can see Microsoft doing the same thing. Even though the sales gap is almost double, 2015 will be the year to see if Sony just cruises or if Microsoft can catch up.

With rumors going around about companies now starting to prefer PS4 over Xbox One, im hoping a company like Crytek will bring out a double pack including Ryse: Son of Rome and the rumored eventual sequel to PS4. This would be great for me.

The main concern I have with Sony is them getting too arrogant and full of themselves as well as releasing "add-ons" to the console. I think their VR gimmick will fail and could hurt them in the long term.

Somewhat interested in PlayStation TV but at the same time, it pretty much kills off PlayStation Vita which in my opinion, is a bad idea.

According to VooFoo, "Server issues, and the AI issues will be fixed in an upcoming update." The first Pure Pool patch is finished on their end and is going through Sony's approval process right now.
thanks for inviting me to OS league. Hopefully we could start different leagues

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion

I hate to sound like a fanboy.

Eh, whatever, I am sure I will get accused of being a fanboy but this is my honest opinion.

I like my One a lot. I love my PS4.

I don't think Microsoft is going to catch up, honestly, I think Sony played their cards right and has established the idea in people's minds that PS4 is the true "gaming machine."

Re: PlayStation 4 Discussion

For general info I'll put this out there.

I was able to file my warranty claim through Sony via their Online Chat this evening. Pretty painlessly I might add. About a 10 min wait which is much easier to swallow than being on hold on the phone.

Also filed a 2nd claim with the same rep for the same issue (thumbsticks tearing) on a 2nd controller bought sperately from Amazon. Said they would honor both under 1 year warranty just have to provide proof of purchase. And pay shipping. Which kinda sucks but isnt that bad considering they can be both be shipped out together.

The blue controller is due out Tuesday if I read correctly. Perfect opportunity to pick 1 up.

Agreed, though the 'gamers console' rhetoric rings a bit more hollow after the EA Access stuff and will continue to print bad PR for them if EA remotely delivers on an objectively worthwhile service - which remains to be seen for some use cases.

Their comments about why they don't offer the service rank up there with other famous gaffes like the pre-recession 'you'll want to work two jobs to buy a ps3' and justifying the Sixaxis with 'rumble is a last gen technology'. There was no need at all to even comment and everyone would have assumed it was because of EA/MS.

Agree overall though, Sony's earned the lead they've taken.

We need an OS League

I played, did web design, and was an admin in a Yahoo Pool league for almost 10 years. Virtual pool can be fun with the right people.

I'm in. Love the game

Agree in regards to that Sony shouldn't have commented on why they didn't want EA Access. Should have just left it as a "no" and that's it.

Looking at EA Access, it's a good deal as long as you're an EA fan. Personally, im not. I buy Madden every year as it's the only football game available to play but it lasts two weeks at most and then gets traded in. Aside from Madden, the only EA game that I have any interest in is Dragon Age III: Inquisition but that's because it's developed by BioWare.

Sony should have said yes to EA Access but I do understand why they said no. Having EA Access would eliminate the possibility of having EA games on PlayStation Now which I don't think there's any of them anyway but still, I understand why Sony said no even though they should have said yes.

For $30 a year, EA Access is definitely worth taking a chance on but if by this time next year, there's still no Dragon Age III, then you have to wonder what kind of Access you're paying for. Right now, it's a good deal and I would have tried it if it was on PS4 but the true test will be to see where EA Access is in a year from now when it comes time for the subscribers to renew.

To me, the only thing that can stop or hurt the momentum of PlayStation 4 is Sony themselves. PlayStation Now is beyond horrible and honestly, if it doesn't change for the better by year's end, I personally would just cancel it completely and move on. PlayStation TV is another horrible idea because it's basically killing off Vita which makes no sense to me whatsoever. I would be marketing Vita as a great second punch with PS4 since it has remote play. I would be using that and the capabilities of Vita (which are better than 3DS) to it's fullest potential. Sadly, it's being killed off.

Then, there's that VR crap. No one is going to consistently play game after game with a gadget strapped to their head. Not to mention the fact that playing games via VR could possibly damage your vision. Also, with it being rumored to launch next year at $150-$200, im sorry but that's a horrible decision.

Sega died for several reasons but what started it was releasing add on after add on and different versions of them all.

PlayStation 4 isn't even nine months old and yet, we're seeing gimmick after gimmick when instead, the main and sole focus should be on the console that was just released nine months ago.

But this is just my own personal opinion.
