I see Phobia and WTF you guys were recommending ASRock mobo's, but reading many user reviews on Newegg, these boards are getting blasted too with DOA's and other various issues. How are the Intel branded and Gigabyte boards?
I have an ASRock for my Core2duo 3.0 ghz. No issues with it. OC'ed to 3.6 ghz with a few clicks of the mouse and is rock solid. No issues.

Definitely itching to break into the quad cores, possibly a 2500k i5. Perhaps a little SSD to go with it.

As for the wireless keyboard and mouse, I have a Logitech MK320 set, it was cheap, and works perfectly. I've not had one bit of interference, and its smooth as silk when using it. You really don't need a "top o the line" mouse/keyboard anymore. Most reputable mfg's should be able to provide you an excellent setup for cheap now.

Granted, I don't use mine to game, as I use the 360 pad for
Yea I was doing more research and it looks like I am just going to go with the Logitech MK550

Also do you ever notice any interference with your wireless internet from the 360 wireless adapter? I seen some complaints with that.

Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread

I have had maybe 2 dropped connections with my controller during the entire time I've been gaming on the PC, and that's only when the batteries start to get really drained anyway. I think it just has a harder time when the batteries get so low.

Re: OS Steam and Computer Gaming Thread

ARMA is gorgeous, you just have to really like that kind of game or you'll hate it as much as the screenshots are pretty. Like ME3, they'd probably benefit from a genre-jumping arcade mode that was a bit more forgivable. We ended up enjoying Operation Flashpoint a bit more, it has a touch of consolitis that results in a little bit lower barrier for entry I think.

Nothing is really cooler than flying across the map in a large chopper full of people, flanked by a little chopper with a few people covering us, I'm going to have to try and get back into ArMA2 now next weekend to play some 32 player co-op.

The ASRock looks to be very easy to overclock with the included software. It's tempting to OC, but don't plan too anytime soon.

How much is that keyboard and mouse Phobia?

Only 50 online, so not only is it reasonable but ranked 5th on the 2012 wireless reviews.

Great choice as I'm using them. I just wish they had a keyboard lighted version...

Nice, that is good to know! Isn't the MK710 lighted? I could be wrong, I looked at so many different reviews I just remember it being the more advanced version of the 550 and remember it having a LCD screen. So I just assume it would be lighted.
