Re: Budget PC [Help]

Get a 700 watt power supply or higher for future proofing. Also I would get a 120mm case fan instead of the 80mm. Ideal would be to have at least 3 or 4 case fans.

Depends on what you are trying to accomplish.

Looking at your list and given that you are not replacing your CPU, it would appear that you are just adding a motherboard that will support crossfire. With only having 2 gig of ram , a tiny fan , and weak powersupply...crossfiring another 5750 in the near future would overload your system.

Edit... You can very easily get a much better vid card for that price. The 460 GTX and 5850s would both blow the 5750 out of the water.

Re: Budget PC [Help]

On another note, that CPU you have is pretty old which means your ram is probably about the same age ( im just guessing here )

Make sure that your ram is compatible with your new motherboard before you make that leap. RAM is pretty inexpensive these days, but would hate for you to be all excited to get all the parts and it not boot due to ram not being supported.

Edit.. Just reread your last post. Can you tell us what your current motherboard is? If its a much older board, it most likely wont support the newer graphics cards. Also the newer cards are larger than the older ones, so if its in a prebuilt case thats packed full it can be somewhat difficult and might require slight modifications to get in. The 460 1gig version shouldnt be an issue and is a solid card if it will work with your current mobo
