Came home last night &....

...when i went to turn on my 360 i got the fatal RROD....DARN! it's no longer under warranty so i guess it's off to Best Buy to get another console. but before i do there is there a link that someone can post on how to fix this. from what i hear it needs better c clamps to keep it from overheating. how true is this?

The same thing just happened to me. This is my third console but, I haven't really been playing my current one because I have been mainly getting PS3 games for the past 2+ years. Normally, I reserve my 360 just for Halo and Gears of War. But, about a month ago I decided to start playing more games on 360 so, I bought 2 or 4 games (most of which I haven't even played yet )

Anyways, I'm looking at just getting a new one but are they any more reliable, really? If so, I guess I just need the arcade version because I can use my current hard drive.

i was thinking the same thing, just to get the Arcade & just swipe out the hard drive. although i will make an attempt to fix it myself. if not off to the trash it goes & i'll just get an Arcade. however i do see a PS3 in the future now that they've dropped in price.

just get a new arcade and sell the RROD one on ebay. Some will buy it, which will help offset some of the price in buying a new Arcade.

yeah i am leaning more that way, but i find it challengin' to try & fix it myself. i guess 1 attempt can't help, although gettin the Arcade will give me the fastest turnaround.

Will someone buy it even if I state that it has the RROD? Because I don't want to screw anybody.

edit:just checked Ebay and there are some for sale with the RROD. Maybe I can go that route and save an extra $20-30 bucks.
