Dominate/Consistent mid-major teams

I was thinking about this while currently watching Witcha St. Have you guys seen small/mid-major schools become consistently strong and dominate as Witcha, Vcu, and Butler?

For me Northeastern was that team. The coach that coaches them into a "powerhouse" in their conference went on to Iowa St, but during his time there he led them to some great records, including a 4 or 5 loss season. The coach who replaced him, and currently coaching, led them to an almost undefeated season with slightly above average players. Even recruiting and coaching two players into draft picks. They were a first round exit every year they were in the tournament, but for around a 10 year period they were pretty dominate. Right now they're significantly down, they have finished in the top 3 of their conference in like 4 years.

I would love to hear you guys stories.

Gonzaga is always good in my legacies. I don't have any screenshots, but back in I want to say 2011 when I ran a legacy Gonzaga was INSANELY good. They went undefeated back to back years and won the title both years. In the next season they were undefeated, but lost in the title game.

I have also seen Northeastern become pretty good. They usually end up as a 7-10 seed about 3-5 years in.

The Atlantic-10 has basically become a power conference in my legacy.

Gongaza became bad a few years after Steve Sutton came and went, two years after Mark Few left.

Same.

But then again WCC and A-10 are major conferences, not mid-majors or smalls.

Also I forgot to mention, One of duke's original assistants left for Buffalo and for like ~10-12 years of his 20 years there they had 20+ win seasons, but never got into the tournament as an at-large so ended up going to the tournament 3-4 times.

Having taken over Northeastern, my alma mater, I can tell you they get good because the starting roster has a ton of freshmen who grow up together. I hope I can do them proud.
Air Force and Fordham are the random programs who are good in my dynasty. The Rams got to the Final Four as a 3-seed!

Air Force had a coach that got the solid 3-4 star recruits and built a solid program. Never too powerful, because Mount West is a good conference, but a solid winning program overrall. They actually have fallen on some hard times recently. Fordham had a couple of nba players and solid years, never really a winning them in my legecy.

More recently though, UMass has started to become good. ~3 season ago they had a nba player who lead them into the tournament, and to my surprise, they've remained consistent without him. A-10 school, but never a good one in my game.

I hear that a lot , I'm doing a legacy with Norfolk state and the Atlantic 10 always has at least 3-5 teams in the top 25 alone
