It happens to the best of us! I remember one time I saved a legacy I had just started over my only save file of a legacy that was 25 seasons in. Talk about a major oof. I now have like 3 save files for every legacy I do lol.

So I believe that I have come to discover that the 6th man option in 2K8 while I like the idea of it, it makes the game a lot harder to play. I always turn off the clutch factor and now the 6th man. Any thoughts from anyone else on this 6th man option?

Huh. I think I may have found a new layer to recruiting. It needs more testing, but what I've been doing is going to the Juniors and Sophmores (that are 4 and 5 stars) that didn't play in the ABL (What AAU is called in this game) and scouting them (they usually get overlooked, so if they are local you can usually get them with a concerted effort).


A large number of those 5 stars as Juniors end up as 3 stars, but they still keep the same skills. And, as I said, it needs more testing, but I think the deciding factor is that determines whether or not a recruit keeps his 5 star rating is the potential stat.

So I’m getting pretty good games with these sliders I’ve been playing with. I took the player movement of one slider set I have used over the years and then I used my favorite slider set to fill out the rest of the sliders. I tweaked them by using what ehhhhhh has been posting about and I think they are giving me a nice blend of different games, but also a modern feel to the game. The game just feels more snappy, especially if you have a good shooting team. I’d love to hear some thoughts about them. Here they are:

Recently started playing this game and man is it awesome. One thing I'm trying to hash out though is how much ABL stats matter compared to scouted ratings.

For example, there's a 3-star PF #175 OVR who's scouted as a B+ 3PT shooter, which seems solid, and there's a 2-star unranked PF who's scouted as a C- 3PT shooter. However, the 3-star was 0-10 from three throughout the ABL, and the unranked guy was 11-17 for a 0.647 percentage, which is nuts.

They're both about the same build and I'm sure the 3-star is a better player overall, but if I'm looking for a stretch 4 who can knock down the three, it seems the 2-star would be a way better fit based on how they performed in the ABL, despite having a significantly worse scouted rating.

Does anybody have any input on how much value to put on a player's ABL stats versus his rating in a category or vice versa?

It depends on how good your scouting ratings are. I always recruited solely based on % stats, and found great success in it
