Week Four Discussion

Welcome to Anxiety Week, where half the games on the schedule spell disaster of the losing team or their head coach. So pop a fresh bag of popcorn and kick back.

Re: Week Four Discussion

My Team's

Purdue - Nevada this week...we have to win & win confidently as we go into conference play in Week 5. Nevada is a program we should beat 3/4 times and if sophomore QB Blough can put the ball in our receivers hands instead of their DB's, victory is ours. I expect this is the first of three "tests" for Hazell in whether or not he'll get fired. Nevada, Maryland, then Illinois. Three winnable games & games we have to be competitive in or else the hot seat becomes the open seat.

TCU - SMU this week...not too concerned with victory this week, shouldn't even be close. My sights are locked on Oklahoma in Week 5. Ohio State blasted them but we know all better than to think Bob Stoop & Co. will just roll over and die. Arkansas please keep winning!!

Louisville - Marshall this week...just win. Forget Heisman race, records, whatever...no injuries for the love of God Cards...we need all we can to stay in tact as we get Clemson in Week 5.

Around the Nation

Couple games I'll be watching:

#5 Clemson at Georgia Tech - Thursday 6:30
TCU at SMU - Friday 7:00
Nevada at Purdue - Saturday 11:00
#11 Wisconsin at #8 Michigan State - Saturday 11:00
#19 Florida at #14 Tennessee - Satursay 2:30
#3 Louisville at Marshall - Satuday 7:00
#17 Arkansas at #10 Texas A&M - Satuday 8:00

Let the games begin...

Florida-Tennessee gonna be a good one. Most likely a 17-10 type of game. Gonna be interesting to see how UF does with Appleby at QB and how losing Sutton effects UT.

I'm personally just curious to see how different Appleby looks in the UF system compared to Purdue and his decision making. With the Boilers he'd have a successful drive and TD, then the next drive INT, one after INT, then TD...it was a never ending process of two wrongs then a right.

I am as well. Not very optimistic about him to be honest but I'm hoping that since he is surrounded with much better talent than he had at Purdue and a much better defense, he realizes he doesn't have to force anything and doesn't commit stupid turnovers. I think Florida can win with a strong running game combined with a strong defensive performance. All Appleby needs to do is make the easy throws and maybe convert a 3rd down here and there to keep the vols honest.

I guarantee Miami doesn't give up a point this week.

I don't know, Cincinnati has a decent offense.

Re: Week Four Discussion

Appleby will look like a Heisman candidate this week and everyone will wonder why he wasn't starting in the first place. And then he'll crash back to Earth next week.

As a Vols fan, I've seen this before, too many times.
