Georgia Southern does have a football team, they're just FCS level, in the CAA, which is often considered the SEC of that level lol, so there's that for tarek. The school I graduated from, Towson, is also in the CAA; have become perennial contenders of late.

Tarek, if you get ESPN3 on laptop or xbox, you can watch many FCS games. They also have a playoff, moving to 24 teams this season, so that's pretty cool as well. ESPN3 should provide you an opportunity to watch a number of FBS games as well, which is what you seem to be looking for, but you may not have access in Australia.

UND is known mostly for their hockey program, which is very good. The football team is decent. They did win the Great West in 2011 and are now in the Big Sky Conference.
Georgia Southern is in the Southern Conference, not the CAA. They have the most history out of the teams listed with 6 FCS National Championships and are one of the best teams in the FCS, but they're moving up next year to the Sun Belt and probably won't be a top 25 team for a while.

I'd say Texas. You always have something to look forward to, because we are always "just one year away". When we lose it is never the fault of our coaches or players, but the unrealistic fan base and unsupportive media, just ask Mack Brown. And although we do win plenty of games, there is always Oklahoma to count on for an absolute curb stomping every year. Just in case you get a little big for your britches. Hook 'Em!

Plus I always figure the women from Louisiana would be pleasing to the eye.
I usually don't play the propaganda thing, but

We're doing pretty well in that department.

With that said, it would be stupid to base your fandom off of something like that.

Oh Watson you evil man. That's LSU is it?

Whilst it would be silly to base fandom on that factor, it does certainly present a compelling argument. One that, ahem, requires further analysis.

Seriously though, Mississippi State seems like a good school to follow, with LSU and Alabama being schools to have a following interest in, just to build my knowledge and appreciation of NCAA football.

I must admit, I used to only be a basketball fan, but now I've basically forgotten about basketball and just fallen head over heels with american football and baseball. Brilliant sports.

I'm going to root for the Maryland Terrapins (I was born in Baltimore and am a huge Ravens fan) but otherwise I need help choosing some other teams to support. Ideas?
I would say A&M, but with all this Johnny football talk about what he did, then stay safe and don't become a fan of A&M till next season. If you really wanna watch football teams from Texas, I would say watch TCU or u.t. I would say the crimson tide if you wanna just watch a SEC team and a team not from texas.

Haha you right, all that Georgia State talk had me mixed up too. They were the ones who were in the CAA, only for a year or two, but are now Sun Belt. They weren't good when they were CAA either lol.
