2012's most dissappointing teams

My list

1. USC (I thought they would play for a title)
2. Auburn (from Champions to can't win a conference game)
3. Arkansas (Title talk pre-season. Didn't finish above .500)
4. WVU (Were a top 5 team with Heisman front runner. Then they saw what a BCS conference schedule was like)
5. Mizzou (Talked smack, didn't back it up, and didn't go bowling)

Honorable mention: Tennessee

What is yours?

1. Tennessee - knew we'd struggle on defense, but not THAT much.
2. Arkansas - thought they were a bit overrated, but again not by that much.
3. USC - too much talent to lose some of those games.
4. Auburn - stunning how quickly they've fallen.
5. Texas - thought they'd do like Florida and return to the elite this year.

Based on the hype they received (regardless of whether it was warranted)? Michigan State. MSU was supposed to win the Legends Division of the Big Ten and be the favorite to reach the Rose Bowl out of the B1G. Instead they lost every conference game at home and had to win at Minnesota in the final game of the season to be bowl eligible.

Michigan State is a good won. I thought they had a chance to win the Big 10.

I disagree about Texas. They had their best season in three years and started the year ranked 16th.

They were 18th heading into the final game. There record was about what I expected.

Florida would be a team that was one of the most surprising along with K-State and Notre Dame.

What everyone's said above, plus Texas Tech. I thought they'd be a top 15 team this year - strong senior QB, great WR depth, improving defense, 3rd year under Tuberville. Unfortunently, it looks like they'll be stuck in mediocrity until they can recruit some legit talent on D.

No mention of Southern Miss? They went from C-USA champions to 0-12.

Also, wasn't Virginia supposed to take the next step this year under London? I don't think 4-8 is what they had in mind.
