I’m so glad NC State didn’t get in. They had one of the worst non conference schedules in all of college basketball. College basketball needs more good,out of conference game scheduled.

I saw Dickie V advocating for the little guy and while I understand his rally cry, if soul purpose of this tournament is to get the 68 best teams in then automatic bids should go to regular season conference winners and not conf tourney winners.

That way teams aren’t having bids stolen by fluke occurrences.

But that won’t happen because at the end of the day $$ matters more than anything.

Auburn was projected as a 5 seed before the SEC Tournament even began and was projected as a 5 seed in February.

Knocked off Tennessee at home, won 4 straight in the tournament and beat Tennessee again on a "neutral" floor where the crowd was probably 80-20 in favor of UT by 20 points, won the SEC Tournament, and finished the season on an 8 game win streak and still gets a 5 seed.

What's the point in even playing the tournament if a team like Miss State can land a 5 seed too? I mean it's nice to get in, but the draw is significantly worse now than it would be and you send a team that just played 4 straight to Salt Lake City 4-days after they won the Conference Tournament. That's some reward for winning your conference.. lol.

FWIW I'm thankful just to be relevant again and I know you have to beat whoever is in front of you regardless, but I can't make much sense of it really. When you think of it as they are #18 overall it sounds okay.

Geography. It was their closest regional by 120 miles....not saying I agree with that bracketing principle.
